I always start my morning with a cup of hot herbal tea and perhaps a Danish, something sweet. While enjoying that I check my news feed on the phone.

Yep, just another morning in the once great state of North Carolina quickly becoming a shithole thanks to a completely dysfunctional state legislature and totally corrupt judicial system. First, the indictments concerning the drunken political junket to Kentucky.

According to the anonymous poster, some in the group of about 30 people appeared to be inebriated from drinking prior to arriving at the distillery. They were on a “Bourbon Trail tour,” visiting several tasting rooms, according to the poster.
"Despite being extremely rude, disruptive, not tipping the bartender and tour guides, and even vomiting in our bathroom sinks, not a single apology was offered,” the post said, describing the scene as “appalling.”

Maybe the indictment won't stick. There is a little wiggle room under the state statues. But the behavior, rude, no tipping, vomiting, is absolutely unacceptable, for anyone, let alone someone chose to represent their district. Their hotel rooms are paid for, their food is paid for, their drinks are paid for, and they can't tip?

Then there is the attack on the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school district, consistently ranked as the top public school district in the state, for YEARS. Obviously, Republicans don't give two shits about the quality of our children's education. Nor do they give a happy damn about "local" control or "parents rights". No, they are all about their own control, of everything from memberships on Public Utility commissions to even county tax rates.

Looming in the background of all this, North Carolina is the only state in the country that has not yet passed a budget. Republicans want to piss and moan about BOOKS in the school's library. Absolutely disgusting.
