How to end poverty in America.

So you think 30-year-olds should live with Mommy and Daddy rather than be independent young adults, learning to live within their incomes?
They can help out around the parents house, work full time, and save a bundle. So, in many cases, yes. Notba bad way to go in todays america. They dont need a social life. Thats not all that necessary.

I look at the neighboring kid. Hes 39, single, never goes out, who lives on his parents farm. He has his own logging company and makes big money. Lives in a small little guest house on the parents farm. He works 6 or 7 days a week alot. Doesnt spend much. Wants to retire at 50. At least thats his goal. He is able to park his truck and skidder on the farmland rent free. Whats the downside here?

No. I have experienced life. I wasn't born yesterday. Perhaps you were. Each and every thing you wrote was crap. Not one thing is true. Go play with your little friends now.
Disprove it, line by line.

The poor are just another fact of life on planet earth.

Not much can be done to lift them up.

But all in all they do pretty well here (in America).
Their needs are met and they don't have to work.

The working poor also receive welfare benefits.

Most of those living on the streets have chosen that.

Poorness is often a state of mind that leads to...poorness..

"Work really hard and you will become wealthy" is a lie we tell people providing them with the false hope they will become rich. That simply isnt true. I think less and less people are buying into this.

Do they tell people that in Canada too?

"Fewer and fewer"

And, BS.

Really, most anyone can become rich in America. Just devote your life to it. Ready, set...GO! :dev3:

What a tired canard. How do you define not able to provide for? On food assistance? On Medicaid? Rental assistance? What type of qualifications will we require? No baby until you post a fifty thousand dollar bond? How about, no baby until you finance a whole life insurance policy with riders for disability and college funding? That work?

And why not throw in some competency requirements. Like if you can't flippin cook, from scratch, no babies for you. Maybe require parenting classes for new parents, and home visits for those that are having another child.

And how do we enforce any requirements? Do we implement a new "baby police force"? If the future parents don't qualify, what do we do, force them to give the child up for adoption. To who?

I am pretty sure half of all children born in the United States are covered by Medicaid. And we are quickly approaching negative population growth. We would already be there without, wait for it, immigrants, both legal and illegal. I mean here is a thought, make it easier for poor families to support their children. The additional tax credit, that Republicans allowed to expire, did more to lower the child poverty rate than any action in history.

I mean instead of passing judgement on people why not adopt what other countries have adopted. A child allowance, the government actually strokes a check to the parents of children, usually paid quarterly and split between the mother and the father. And almost everyone qualifies, except for the very wealthy.
Or people could just become responsible for themselves. Wow, what a novel concept.

It's all for your benefit.
Educating you would be to your benefit, not mine. But you are not listening anyway so I'm not going to tutor you.
Wanna compare ages? I'm 85.
I think probably your misunderstanding between age and wisdom is where your fundamental problem lies. I can see that you've tethered yourself to one or two points in your life that you think make you eligible for a degree of respect and you feel that to be challenged would be unfair. That works only in your mind. Your apparent conviction, "Only the lazy are unemployed" is thoughtless. I've heard it before but I have experienced far greater systems where poverty is non-existent. You, of course, have no idea what I am talking about and I have no obligation to teach you.
