Because "tyranny of the majority" is the sort of thing people who support dictators will say to justify their crap.
Now, I'm not saying the majority are always right. Often democracy can go in directions that aren't great, like Brexit, for example. However you've probably never lived in a dictatorship, I have, and I know what happens in dictatorships.
As for "Democrats did it first".... the problem is the US has a crap two party electoral system that has lead to such craziness that nothing makes sense any more.
And people like you, and you make up a large portion of the US, seem to get entertained by the whole thing, without seeing the damage it's doing to the US. You can't see the immediate problems, so you assume they don't exist.
