How Obama won the Iran nuclear deal

Evidently, he did win, as he usually does against Republican fear mongering

Right, with lies and a large dose of fear mongering of his own. His claims that the only alternative to this deal is war is total bullshit.

Give us your alternative reality of what will happen if Republicans scuttle the deal and I will listen

What brought Iran to the table to begin with, sanctions. Tighten them up and don't take the military option off the table to begin with, like you dear leader did. Iran knew from the get, because your dear leader had a history of drawing red lines and caving when they were crossed in Syria. With that knowledge they knew they were dealing with a weakling and could walk all over him. Also don't give me any crap about the other countries involved, they were in just as weak of positions because of their failing economies, they need the business. That's the very reason the US Chamber of Commerce is pushing a bad deal, all they see is a share of that 150 billion.

Sanctions allowed Iran to develop 80% of the enriched uranium they need for a weapon. Do you think you will get a better deal once they have 100%?

You want to withdraw from the deal when the other countries are already lifting sanctions? What kind of leverage will that leave the U.S. with?

Now, really....give me your real alternative option

We won't have an alternative as long as your dear leader sits in the oval office, well unless moochel gives him his balls back. Iran is already saying they will violate the deal before sanctions are lifted, what attitude do you think they'll do after? Then we'll see if the snap back provision is worth the paper it's printed on.

FACT, in 2008 when Obama was flapping his big lips about reaching out a hand of friendship to Iran senior leaders in the Democratic party called Obama's foreign policy "naïve" and "dangerous".

Do you really give up so easily?

There will be no lifting of sanctions until the removal of enriched uranium and destruction of centerfuges is verified. Not just by Obama but Russia, China, England, France and Germany....are they all "weaklings" too?

Do you have a freaking reading problem? I've already answered your dumb question.

He didn't win shit lib he was barely able to get 34 senators to support him, a huge majority of senators including some from his own party say this deal is bad and refuse to support it. Only in liberal stutopia would this be viewed as a win.

The deal when through when Obama greased the wheels with more pork fat.

Obama once again shows his mastery over Republican opponents

The Iran nuclear deal, and how Obama finally learned to win the summer

But after enduring several politically brutal summers in years past, Obama won this one.
And he did it by beating back a rare congressional speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, vocal and united opposition from Republicans, and a $20 million campaign to sink the deal.

So, how did Obama pull this off?

Partly because the public outrage never really materialized. But it was also because Democrats learned from past mistakes.

The White House had a war room, too, and a secret weapon: Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz. Moniz, a nuclear physicist, made several presentations to lawmakers over the summer. "Not only did he know the science," explain Carl Hulse and David M. Herszenhorn at The New York Times, "he could explain it clearly, persuasively, and without the condescension some heard in Secretary of State John Kerry's presentations."

Several Democrats have said they were also persuaded to back the deal after senior diplomats from the other five world powers — Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China — spoke with a dozen or so lawmakers right before the August break, assuring them that nobody else was going to return to the negotiating table if this deal fell through. That sank the argument from opponents that a better deal was possible.
Republican lies can't counter the facts.

the left is so damn hilarious. They say opposition is built on fear. Yet they whine that if the deal is not passed the Republicans will bomb Iran. Even though the Republicans have no power to bomb anyone like Obama has done for the last 7 years. Yet they play the fear card while blaming the Republicans. Are the people really too stupid to understand their two faced BS?

None of this really matters. Iran has already said they are going to continue doing what they do only this time with more money. Obama is just taking care of the Military Complex, it's his job.

66% of congress thinks Obama's Iran deal is horrible and do not support it.

Doesn't matter to Obama or the left, as long as they think they won, winning is all that matters.

That just shows how your 2014 mid term victories, LOL, didn't mean squat....

The Iran deal is DONE!!!! nothing your dumbsh!ts on the right can do about it, but swallow another Obama victory load:ahole-1:

It just seems like that the left thinks that their guy is only doing good when he can overcome the democratic process. If I didn't know any better it would seem that these people secretly crave to push aside democracy in order to get what they want done.

Must override democracy....must jump over legislative branch...must find a way to rule over the masses without sounding like that is what I want to do.

Interesting how the Iranians are playing it:

"Iran's supreme leader said Thursday "there will be no deal" if world powers insist on suspending rather than lifting sanctions as part of a landmark nuclear agreement, and said it is up to Iran's parliament, and not him, to approve or reject it."

Iran's president however wants to assure that the "deal" will not be legally binding.

"President Hassan Rouhani is opposed to letting parliament vote on the deal, which he insists is an understanding with world powers and not a treaty. Last week he warned that if parliament votes on the deal its provisions would be legally binding."

Iran's Top Leader: No Nuclear Deal Unless Sanctions Lifted

Obama is being credited with having bought off a few senators in order to be able to claim a foreign policy success but sadly his "deal" isn't worth the paper it's written on.

.

Which is what I've said from the beginning.

Iran will continue to do as it pleases in reference to its nuke program and they will take all they can get from this "deal."

What these dummies forget is that Iran considers the West, because it isn't Muslim, to be blasphemers and America is the Great Satan.

Does anyone seriously think Iran will abide by any deal it makes with leaders who aren't Muslims and are considers blasphemers and the Great Satan??

Those on this little peace train need to smarten up. Iran will do as it pleases.

Republican lies can't counter the facts.

Which facts are those, the ones where Kerry swore there were no side deals or reality?

Time will tell and you can keep celebrating the "victory" and I hope it is one.

I doubt it though because Iran will do what it wants as it has always done.

No one will bomb them and no one will do anything except hand out more resolutions.

Time will tell.

Give it five years and Republicans will be taking credit for the deal

In five years it is very likely that some radical islamic group will have set off nuclear device and murdered thousands if not millions. The real danger is not what the Iranian military might do, its what some group that the ayatollahs might sell a bomb to would do.
So without the deal, Iran keeps its supply of enriched uranium and the ability to produce more

How does that keep us safer?

WITH the deal they do exactly the same things. This so-called deal does not stop them from enriching or make them shut down their centrifuges. What it does do is release hundreds of billions of dollars that they will use for conventional weapons and supporting terrorist groups that want to kill YOU.

This "so called deal" takes away the enriched uranium compiled over the last ten years and destroys critical centerfuges

What does the Republican alternative provide?

Yeah, sure it does. But the Iranians are the ones who monitor those actions.

The alternative? An agreement with some enforcement teeth. Gradual lifting of sanctions if it can be shown by unbiased inspectors that they are actually dismantling their nuclear program.

You are FOS if you think the only alternatives are this "deal" or war.

that vote has not been taken yet. congress will vote down the deal, then obama will veto that measure and 34 senators will prevent an override of the veto. So, effectively, 1/3 of the senate will be determining the fate of the mid east.

But, when this deal turns to shit, as it surely will, there will be no confusion as to who to blame.

What makes you think there is a bettr agreement to be had?
What makes you think that walking away puts us in a better position?
