How many uninsured before Obamacare...how many now ?

Because he works for, and pimps for, the government.

Ask him.

So clue me in.

He informed he that he was an expert....but didn't say why.

Try asking him to deny it.

I do not work for the government. Ta-da!

Greenbeard is a propagandist for the insurance industry.

I get that you have that opinion.

I don't know his background.

He's been distributing this same kind of "information" at every major political message board for the last five years or so.

This thread was about how many were uninsured prior to the ACA and how many there are now.

One of the issues I have pointed out is: Who do you count ?

The Kaiser link provided (after some digging) shows that we had 47 million uninsured. President Obama used this number as did Barbara "Bulls**t" Boxer (then she raised hers to 60), but then he lowered it to 30.

It has been clear to me that the reference source (and who is counted) has to be established up front when having this debate. Otherwise it is useless to discuss (probably is anyway....but just sayin').

The Kaiser data shows we are now at 29 million uninsured.

That is a reduction of 18 million.

It says nothing as to why (although clearly the ACA had to have some impact).

It says nothing about the usability of the insurance.

It simply says we now have fewer uninsured than that.

Let's keep the other stuff off this thread.

If you have other data....please share.

The better question would be how many who now have it, can't use it because the deductible is to high?
Either way they still don't have real health care insurance that they can afford and really use.

Well, the trend line on folks being able to afford their medical bills is also good.

And as another thread around here recently noted, insurers are beginning to experiment with plans that carve primary care visits out of the cost-sharing (even for high-deductible plans).

Health insurers in several big cities will take some pain out of doctor visits this year — the financial kind.

They’ll offer free visits to primary care doctors in their networks.

You read that right. Doctor visits without copays. Or coinsurance. And no expensive deductible to pay off first. Free.

Based on subsidies paid by someone else?

Based on what the insurer chooses to offer. The details will vary by insurer and by plan offered.

The insurer didn't legislate the subsidies. The Liberals in Congress and ****** President did.

The funding of insurance for many who now have government does.

Second verse, same as the first.

We're discussing free primary care visits now. Try to keep up.

Yup. I think it's pretty obvious the insurance lobby wrote ACA, but they didn't vote the fucker into law. Congress did that. And the President signed it. Ultimately, they're responsible for selling us out.

Well it was not just them it was also the big pharmaceutical companies..

The two things the far left claims they are against, they voted for and supported..

And remember that many that did vote for this were against it until the people voted them out of office.
