How long til we see the the positive benefits of this?

Not at all.

I’m saying revenues would have increased quicker if we had a higher tax rate, which would have lowered the deficit and resulted in less debt.

You guys always seem to forget that deficits are the difference between revenues and expenditures.
If we don't extend the 2017 tax cuts, the poor and the middle class will be paying higher taxes.

I keep hearing how these people are the best workers doing amazing things for the government. They should have no problem finding a new job.
Don't get me wrong, Mike. I have no problem with them telling every department to cut down their workforce by a certain amount. My problem is with across the board cuts by some dickhead not that that department, with no idea of what the people being cut does, nor idea of any plan on how the department will handle the responsibilities of the departmental cuts. The method, in itself is stupid, shortsighted and ill-informed. That, and the fact, that some (without any negative performance reviews) are being kicked out, with an exit saying they were terminated for poor performance, when it is nothing but a lie posted to their resume, a punitive action, totally undeserved. Assholes like Elon and Trump only do this, from a background of not having to give-a-sh#t about employees and their employee's lives, family or anything about them. I have had to reduce head count, by layoff upon corporate instruction, but never issued a per performance separation, simply because corporate ordered a reduction in headcount. In the south, in real life private business, it would likely have negative impact in the parking lot or somewhere down the street. Of course, we dealt with lower educated, sometimes lower self-impulse controlled workers. That does not mean it is OK to simply f#ck over employees, simply because it is little more than checking a box or including a sentence in termination letter, to the manager taking the action.

Can you prove that people are getting tax returns in three months instead of six weeks?

Can you prove that veterans trying to schedule medical procedures aren't getting a real person? By the way, you're totally fine with that if we go to universal health care.

Can you prove that airplanes are crashing due to overburdened controllers because of Trump? Which accidents are you talking about?

Can you prove that anything Trump did stopped anyone's SS benefits, who was actually entitled to SS benefits?

You can't prove any of this stuff.
Sure

Just as soon as you can prove you can fire people indiscriminately with no impact

The US spends 38 cents of every military dollar on earth. Our military is more powerful than the next seven countries combined.

It is a matter of priorities
The US prefers military spending to healthcare, education, modern infrastructure, social safety net
With 90% of Canadians living withing 100 miles of our border, they`re obviously planning an invasion. We must be prepared!

Yes, their taxes will go up a little. What will happen to the poor and middle class when you cut government funding in half?
They will pay lower prices at the store. The poor and middle class aren't working in DC becasue they can't afford to live there.

Sure

Just as soon as you can prove you can fire people indiscriminately with no impact
Of course it will have impact. I never said it wouldn't. People who never should have had these jobs in the first place will lose their jobs. But, just because we overspent 36 trillion dollars doesn't mean we should keep overspending. And, the price of goods and services will be going down by downsizing the government.

Trump is a prick

Instead of releasing probationary employees for budgetary reasons, he sends them letters telling them they are being fired for poor performance.

Even if they have outstanding performance reviews or a recent promotion or performance award
That is the legal way to telling them to GTFO. They have no appeal as they are probationary. The government did the same to me in 2007. They replaced me because the school population declined.

Are you feeling bad now....

Musk did a number on ye... He told you USAID was the problem while he is sucking at the Defence Dept tit to the tune of Billions...
You were done...

USAID was about doing the responsible thing for the safety of the US people and you want to hope a charity does it...

When kids dies of measles in US are you going to say, you just didn't give enough
Musk saves the US government billions by reducing the costs of putting satellites in orbit much cheaper than NASA can do it.

Musk is doing space missions that Government run NASA did 50 years ago
Yes, because they are very f-ing expensive! They have no incentive to be cheap, Musk does it light years cheaper and better!

Boeing stranded two astronauts in space for NASA. Musk is getting them home. Why can't NASA do that?

So contracts to launch military satellites is bad spending but drag shows all over the world is a good use of tax dollars. You’re a fucking idiot.

The only reason this doesn’t look like every other downsizing is the courts and unions blocking the firings on the more entrenched people… for now. Once that is taken care of then we can get rid of the upper and middle management as well. Be patient, we will get there.

It probably does block some more entrenched, but that is the problem with slash and burn approach to personnel reduction. Trying give a bad job reference without any reference to specific bad actions, is just stupid, impotent undirected vindictiveness by Elon and Donny. Elon and Donny have been fcking themselves and their agenda over their petty vindictiveness, and lack of even knowledge of what many of these people did in their positions, and setting themselves up for class action lawsuits. I never even treated contract labor like that, just for being not only decent, but to avoid company liability. Did you?

Based on the available information, there is no official count of the total number of federal employees fired due to the recent executive orders. However, estimates suggest the number could be substantial:
  1. Over 75,000 federal employees had accepted a "deferred resignation" offer as of February 12, 2025.
  2. The Internal Revenue Service alone was planning to fire 6,700 probationary employees.
  3. The Environmental Protection Agency fired 388 employees.
  4. The Department of Health and Human Services was in the process of firing about 5,200 health workers.
  5. At the Federal Aviation Administration, between 200 and 300 employees have been fired.
  6. USA TODAY reported that the total number of layoffs could surpass 100,000 workers.
These firings have affected multiple agencies, including the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, and Transportation, among others. The focus has been primarily on probationary employees, who generally have less job security. While an exact figure is not available, it's clear that the scale of these layoffs is significant and widespread across the federal government.
Who will stop the bloodletting?
