HOW IS WAR MAKING US SAFE

How is spending billions invading, occupying and rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan making us safe from terrorist blowing up a plane over any US city, strapping on a bomb carried across our borders and blowing up people in any public place? Warring in Iraq and Afghanistan may make them safer but not me in a crowded mall in Reno, etc. Make it safer here by putting our military on planes, borders, coasts. We cannot afford to fight terrorists in every country there are and we do not have to fight them there to make us safe here.
I don’t make my neighbor’s home safe in order to keep my home safe. We have not made this country safer by making other countries safer.
53,000 Americans died in Vietnam and did not make us safe here. We need to count our losses and bring our remaining troops home because we are out of money and do not have enough to keep us safe here. Was security not on the plane in Detroit because homeland security budget was cut? Law enforcement has been cut. ICE budget has been cut. All making us less safe here. OBL was right, financially attacking us will destroy us.
Blacks fought and died and came home from WW1and WW11 and it did not make them safe here because they continued to be discriminated against and hung from trees by domestic enemies. It was only when they fought here for civil rights, voting right, etc, that they become safe, secure and free.
We may be winning the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, but losing the war on the border against drugs and illegal entry. One of those entering illegally could be a terrorist carrying explosives instead of drugs.
We are our most dangerous enemy. We don’t have the money to keep us safe here and a strong economy will make us safe and keep us safe.

Yeah the world wold be a safer place with Saddam and the thousands of terrorists we have killed and/or captured, back out there plotting our demise.

Let them plot all they want

But saying that leaving our borders unguarded while waging an unbelievably expensive two front war is making us safe is a little naive.

Most of those so called terrorists killed in the M.E. had absolutely no means to commit terrorist acts on our soil.

And many/most? were just innocent colateral damage.
The troops were ordered not to keep a bodycount.

Humans have warred against each other since the first bone was picked up and used against an adversary. First of all I would love to see wars and conflict ended forever. The reality is, it will not ever go away. Take CONFLICT alone for instance. Take a look just in this site amongst thousands. We can't even get along in here without bashing each others brains in for nothing more than an opinion. We "War" in blogging sites, totally unable to see the humor in many things, and taking too seriously the views of others. I am sure if mortars and grenades were legal in these sites we'd be losing members every minute. Lots of virtual grenades are launched on a regular basis in these sites however. :eusa_angel:

While we sit in the warm comfort of our own homes, own several vehicles, have numerous 'toys', like this room I am in with 5 computers and wall full of radio equipment capable of every type of transmission digital or otherwise, excluding encryption which is illegal for non-military or non-government types.

Why do human beings love war and conflict? There are so many reasons, I will just mention a couple and let the others here add to them if they want. It would take volumes of books or megabytes of data to examine the entire human beings desire for conflict etc.

Wars are used to claim other peoples land and property. Some 'wars' are legal, such as the laws concerning eminent domain. When governments become too powerful they feed on their own citizens in the name of health, safety and other 'excuses'.

Wars are used along with claiming some property or country, for power and dominance.

Wars are used for the obvious, economic superiority, ie: $$$

Wars are used for "Ego"?

Wars are used to impose religious beliefs on others.

The list goes on. The truth is there aren't but a few human beings on the planet that will never desire conflict. The rest actually enjoy conflict for some of the reasons such as ego etc. It's all around us, just look around the rooms just in here folks.

Were we safe Sept. 10, 2001? What war were we fighting?

Illogical conclusions from assholes don't surprise me one bit. It's in the kool aid.

HOW IS WAR MAKING US SAFE....How is spending billions invading, occupying and rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan making us safe from terrorist blowing up a plane over any US city, strapping on a bomb carried across our borders and blowing up people in any public place?.

What the fucketh are you talking about?

The purpose of the war is not to make us safe, au contraire, every time the fuckers kill an innocent bystander they create new "terrorists'.

The purpose of the war is to enrich KBR, Halliburton and other war profiteers.

Federal bureacrats also want pretexts to strengthen TSA by allowing them to examine our perineums, in the name of national security, but of course.

wrong numb nuts. terrorists drag off their dead so they can't be counted. and no such order was issued.

Parents carried off their dead children to bury too.

“We are on the offense,” Bush answered. U.S. forces are taking it to the enemy every day. But he explained that the administration had made a decision that in some ways has hobbled its ability to show just how much it is on the offense. “We have made a conscious effort not to be a body-count team,” Bush said, in a clear reference to the tabulations of enemy killed that became a hallmark of the Vietnam War. And that, in turn, “gives you the impression that [U.S. troops] are just there — kind of moving around, directing traffic, and somebody takes a shot at them and they’re down.”

Absolutely nothing.

I think LOL's dementia is summed up pretty precisely when she states that keeping her neighbor's house safe doesn't add to her own safety.

Someone needs to let neighborhood watch know. Also the bands of citizens who have chased crack dealers out of their neighborhoods and reclaimed neighborhoods.
