The argument that strict identification is a necessity for safety in airline travel is deeply flawed. The determinant of safety is what a passenger boards a plane with. Either a passenger is “naked,” in the security sense of the word, meaning thoroughly searched for arms or weapons, or he is not. It is ridiculous to presume that a passenger may take over an airliner with the pilots cabin door locked, as all now are. Armed air marshals are now on almost every flight. The requirement for a form of identification to enter federal buildings is equally ridiculous.

In recent years, the state of Washington has issued nearly 300 fictitious driver licenses to the CIA.

Inside Washington’s Department of Licensing is a special office called the License Integrity Unit. This is where police officers who are going undercover can come to get a fake identity. It’s a valid Washington driver license, but with a fictitious name, birthdate and address. It’s known as the confidential driver license program.

“A CIA officer who works overseas needs a cover,” Weiner explains.

For my wife she had the addition of having to provide a divorce decree from previous marriage and any name changes from maiden to first marriage to our current marriage. All documents that came from the government itself. They already know who the hell she is if they simply looked it up themselves.

Total and complete fabrication on your part. Guess what happened to my marriage license? No one filed it and it was lost. My wife and I have a marriage "certificate" that is not considered proof of marriage by some jurisdictions, so we tried to get a copy of the real one. Guess what? It doesn't exist in the state of Alabama. What's hilarious is we were married by the Clerk of Court who was a neighbor of my wife when she grew up! She got her REAL ID with it because TN accepted it, and she had a driver's license and SS card with her married name.

Real ID ensures you are who you say you are because there are multiple steps taken to verify who you claim to be.

So if you're on the no fly list, you don't end up on a plane using a fake ID.
