Perhaps as a long overdue payback from the days of British Colonialism, the economically and militarily superior USA, should use its powers for the annexation of Britain and the other Commonwealth nations, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and so on and so forth.
Militarily, it wouldn't be difficult were that the game, though it might damage relations with other European nations, however using our superior economic power and media, we could do so ideologically and economically.
For example, one of the primary sources of media income is the BBC USA; the US could simply shut it down and enact embargos on it and other UK exports, damaging their economy enough that they have little in the way short of perfect compliance.
All UK or Commonwealth media networks, public, private (false as that dichotomy is), as well as other source of media pedagogery can be effectively blackballed by the US, and replaced entirely with new ones more familiar to US conservative and Republican interest.
Were we to do this, within a generation we would effectively be able to turn said countries and their dying, dinosaur media networks, already more or less rendered obsolete by social media and/or the information age into a pro-America propaganda outlet, priming the populace for potential annexation and abolishing of all British and Commonwealth systems of government; said former 'colonizers' being reduce to the status of US territories.
Were this fantasy to become reality, it would also be a start for further colonization of Europe; Germany, for instance, never quite paid enough of a price for Hitler, neither to America, nor Russian interests (with most WWII losses being Russian as a result of German aggression) - embargos against Germany, and its reduction to a new slice of the pie, for America and Russia to carve up, would hopefully potentially ease US and Russian relations, and be just compensation for the evils which Hitler enacted against Americans and Russians.
