Similar circumstances are what propelled Richard Riordan, the last Republican mayor of Los Angeles, into office in 1993. While Caruso changed his registration to Democrat a couple of years ago, he was a lifelong Republican and would essentially be a DINO if he won. He is currently polling even with Congresswoman Karen Bass who is also running for the seat and with people frustrated with rising crime and a growing homelessness problem he might end up winning.

He has an agenda. He has spent big dollars on his campaign for sure. If Caruso can do anything for the numerous problems he will be OK with me. TBD.

If Karen Bass is elected mayor, the city will not survive. It will join the other failed great cities.
