Housee GOP schedules vote on Keep Your Health Plan Act !

House Republican leaders announced Wednesday the lower chamber will vote next week on a bill that would allow people to keep their health insurance plan if they like it.

The Keep Your Health Plan Act, H.R. 3350, was introduced last week by House Energy & Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and more than two dozen Republicans. As of Wednesday, co-sponsorship had grown to 88 members.

;"Upton's bill authorizes insurance companies to keep offering plans that they have said need to be canceled because of ObamaCare's new insurance standards. Since early October, companies have sent out millions of notices to enrollees saying their plans will be scrapped and, in many cases, replaced by more expensive plans.

"Despite the president's repeated promise of 'if you like your plan, you can keep it,' many Americans are now learning the sad reality that their current plan will no longer exist beginning on Jan. 1," Upton said last week. "Instead they are forced to purchase healthcare that they cannot afford through a system that does not even work, and that's just not fair."

The concept behind Upton's bill is being supported by some Democrats, including two in the Senate — Sens. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) — who have proposed a similar bill.

Too little, too late. We already have a law.

And laws can be changed.....Used to be a law that women couldn't vote. It changed.

Unfortunately the Senate will table it and it will be, as Mr Reid likes to say, DOA

I am glad this is coming to a vote.

But we should all note how short the time was between the problem being discovered and when this bill was written and how quickly the Speaker allowed it to come to the floor for a vote.

Contrast that with the deliberate blockage by Boehner during the shutdown when he would not allow a vote to be made on the budget.

Talk about dictatorial powers!

The GOP isn't voting on repeal and replace, or on defunding? Now that they might actually have a chance to get that done to some extent they're going to focus on another issue like keep your plan? Sometimes I wonder if the GOP can accurately be referred to as an opposition party.

Too little, too late. We already have a law.

Thiis is not t repeal the law, its Keep Your Health Plan Act and some Democrats are on board. Remember, just yesterday, 16 senators went to the president worried about the ACA in general and about their jobs up for reelection in 2014.

Let's see what Reid does. He may say damn you fools (Dem Senators) and not bring it to the table, we'll see.

Talk about dictatorial powers!

Countless votes were made on the budget during the shutdown. And countless bills passed only to be held up by the Senate.

If the plan fits into ACA and does not threaten the ACA's viability, or if the plan creates health care affordability and availability for all, then the Dems should vote for it.

Too little, too late. We already have a law.

One the people never wanted. That was passed through shady means. That is hurting countless people who were happy with their insurance. And which the President promised that people would be able to keep their insurance and doctor, which has been proven to be a complete lie.

Im not sure how much you understand our form of government. See the people have the right to have their representatives repeal laws they don't like or create new laws that supplant old ones. Especially ones they don't work.

If you believe this is at all settled, then you don't understand how our Republic works.

Of course it threatens ACA's viability. It's allowing people to keep their insurance. Something ACA was designed NOT to do.

All those "countless" bill were political bullshit budgets which defunded ObamaCare.

Boehner refused to let a clean budget be voted on. He even changed a House rule in order to create dictatorial powers for himself so that no one could bring it up for a vote.

She doesn't care about how a Republic works. As long as it is something she agrees with, a dictatorship would be fine...in fact...ideal.

Wrong, they were specific funding lines for items people were complaining about. None of them said "defund obamacare", they just didnt include funding FOR it. Considering most of these were small items, of course Obamacare funding wasnt included.

What Reid set up with Obama's help was a wall where it was all or nothing.

Actually, I like the two party system. This Republican bunch is unique though in that they would rather see America brought to it's knees than work to bring it back to it's once glorious and powerful standing in the world.

They've always wanted affordable healthcare. Republicans just didn't want to put forth the effort to present it's own version of that.

I want a rich person to put $100 dollars in my pocket every Friday. So I guess I should make the federal government go get it from him at gunpoint (actually take $130 to cover thier costs) and place it gently in my pocket.

Why did you ignore "or if the plan creates health care affordability and availability for all, then the Dems should vote for it"

Again, you prove my point. Your clueless.
BOTH branches are thoroughly corrupt. Obama is a figment of your imagination. Finally supporters are seeing who he really is, he is a mirror image of what he claims to be in almost every sense.
Please explain ANY of this:
1) Promised "most transparent administration ever" - reality - most secretive.
2) Ran on helping the poor and minorities - reality - minorities have never been this bad off in over 50 years, and there are more people on government assistance than at anytime in history Sarah.
3) Gitmo is an illegal monstrosity...in reality...still open.
4) Ran on "reaching out to adversaries through diplomatic means" - reality - U.S Soldiers are in combat missions in more foreign countries than Bush, and 78% of U.S. casualties in Afghanistan have happened under Obama than Bush.

I could easily go further...but...I would be wasting my time You didn't even finish what I wrote above - you don't want to know reality.
