Why shouldn't we learn exactly what happened that day and how? Part of this investigation is to learn from mistakes made in order to establish appropriate changes necessary to Capitol police procedures.

The cost, in terms of federal revenue is minimal given members of Congress are already paid for this. They don’t get paid extra for doing extra investigations. For example, the entire cost of the 9/11 commission was only about $15 million. Chump change for a government raising trillions in revenues.
