Hottest Summer on Record

"They spent two winters (1903–04 and 1904–05) at King William Island in the harbor of what is today Gjoa Haven, Nunavut, Canada.[6][7]" -- from the unread article, Mammoth. ESL?

I point out it took them 3 years, and you confirm it took 3 years. So just what are you babbling about?

When you manage to figure out what your point is, please let everyone know.

Ummm because you seem to be ignoring the fact that two of the winters they stayed WERE VOLUNTARY SO THEY COULD LEARN SKILLS FROM THE INUIT! DUMBASS!

The ice doesn't melt in the same way each year. Leads blow open and shut. An area open one year might not be open the next, and visa versa.

Come on, this is basic stuff.

Yes, so basic a moron like you should be able to understand. So why don't you? 1903 the Passage was crossed. Then in the 1980's it became a REGULAR OCCURRENCE!

Wow, way back in the 1980's they were using the Passage. Funny how you clowns never mention that FACT.

dude/ dudette, I still don't see why the passage is so important to you.

Because it's a clearsign that the world is warming.

And, given the denier response here, it's clear that denying it is far, far more important to deniers.

Isn't it a good thing to be able to travel north rather than having to go to the Panama canal to get around to the Pacific? Don't understand your objective to a boat traversing an open route?

You understand that there's more to planet earth than the northwest passage, right?

As usual, the rest of the world does not share your hilarious logic failure.
it is? How? Isn't that but one small area of the globe? Why don't you post up other significant global areas where you can show ice melt? Oh please, pretty please?

What I find mildly amusing is that some can not figure out that the Northwest passage is primarily controlled by ocean circulations. Namely the ADO and PDO which cause shifts in storm tracks on a decadle scale.

Both of those circulations are linked to Solar output and the 160 year solar cycle. We have just peaked the current cycle and the sun is now going cool on the down side of the cycle. The next 60-80 years will lay waste to the CAGW meme very nicely as it has already begun. The coming La Nina will be a cold one and all the global warming they thought they had will be gone..

The alarmist know this and that is why they are pushing so hard for COP21. By this time next year it will be painfully obvious to all that it is cooling.

Oh hell you're assuming these clowns actually care about facts.. Facts are the enemy to these dingbats. Never, ever forget that.

trend

Still not the hottest according to Satellite data.. OR THE UNALTERED STATION DATA. Epic Fail!.

Yes, it took him three years BECAUSE HE STAYED TWO YEARS WITH THE INUIT LEARNING ARCTIC SURVIVAL SKILLS!:laugh: Something you either forgot, OR IGNORED!

You give asshat a new meaning dude!

So Westwall is also sticking with his very peculiar "he had a serious hankerin' to eat blubber for two years, instead of immediately going back home to be covered in glory" theory.

There's no point in even trying to penetrate the delusion bubble that the deniers here have retreated into.

Mr. Westwall is being Mr. Westwall. Like Silly Billy, any silly claim in order to avoid the truth. This summer was the hottest on record, this year is going to go down as the hottest on record. And idiots will continue to deny it.

maybe due to the magnetic poll of the planet is there?

more shite, you and yours will never be able to prove. EVA. If the temperature sets were actually correct, then there would be no need to correct them. Amazing stuff.

No, what's funny is an ignorant **** like you doesn't read history so you are constantly bewildered by facts. Amundsen KNEW he was going to be tackling Antarctica so he stayed with the Inuit (if you were smart you would read his book where he details the Inuit experience, The North West Passage V1) to learn all he could so that when he finally made the Antarctic attempt he would succeed unlike those who attempted, and died before him. My gosh but you are truly one of the most ignorant morons I have ever seen.

And you're the 2nd most ignorant **** I have ever seen. Have you even read Amundsens book? Where he details the Inuit experience? No.... I didn't think so.

NOVA | Arctic Passage | My Life As an Explorer | PBS

The expedition's first stop after entering the Canadian archipelago was at Beechey Island, where they took a series of magnetic observations. As they then made their way through Peel Strait, they had a series of harrowing close calls—a collision with a hidden rock that almost left them rudderless, a fire in their engine room, and a violent gale that lasted four days. Come September, Amundsen knew they had to find winter quarters, and they moored the Gjøa in "the most beautiful little landlocked bay that the heart of a sailor could desire" on the southeast coast of King William Island. There they would stay for two years, conducting scientific investigations and, more importantly for their future passage, learning from the Inuit

Amundsen could not have continued in 1903. Thought you said that you had read his book.

Yes, ONE winter they had to stay.

Yes, ONE winter they were stuck. The other they did because they WANTED to.

So, with a very shallow drafted boat, they would have taken at least two years to complete that voyage. A voyage that modern yachts can make in a couple of weeks on the years that the Passage is open.

Wow, are you truly that clueless? How many bays and inlets are there in the region? Hmmm? How accurate were the maps and charts for the region? Hell WERE there any for the vast majority of the region? The answer is NO. There were almost no charts for the area until the 1920's. The ship that Amundsen used was a sloop. 47 tons and not particularly fast. The modern day yachts are at least TWICE as fast as the Gjoa with all of their modern navigational aids and weather prediction services.

Once again you seem to think that a modern yacht is somehow the equivalent of a 19th century vessel.

You truly are one ignorant ****.

However, none of this changes the fact that we just experianced the hottest summer on record, and 2015 will be the hottest year on record. When is your cooling going to arrive, Mr. Westwall? You have been predicting cooling for five years now. Real scientists, like Dr. Hansen, have been predicting warming for the same period, and we have had three of the warmest years on record from 2010 through 2015.

The claim that this was the "hottest summer on record" is not born out by fact. No matter how much propagandizing you clowns do the people KNOW that to be true. Unlike you I KNOW that the Earth operates on time scales that are far longer than our puny little lives so the cooling is already here. It will just take a little longer to bludgeon that fact into the minds of the propagandists. Though, they are getting the idea that their time is short....they are DESPERATE to get legislation through before the cooling becomes obvious to even those who are the most deeply divorced from reality.

oh stop yourself already. post up one temperature data set that someone didn't touch and then let's discuss. until then, just more mumbo jumbo from you.
