It isn’t about antisemitism in the least. Antisemitism is the vehicle they are using to justify their actions on independent universities and force politically motivated changes that severely curtail academic freedom.

Think about it. If you are fighting anti-semitism on college campus’ how does the government approach it? Normally I imagine, the civil rights division of the DoJ is involved and if it is determined that civil rights were violated, there is a process where by they negotiate changes that need to be made much like they do with police departments accused of racial bias.

But that is not happening.

Look at those rated “F”….were any of them targeted? I don’t think any of them were. Among those “D” only a couple (Columbia included) were targets. Harvard actually got a “C” yet it has had the most punative actions thrown at it.

Second, what are the demands being made of these schools? Changing their curriculum and deleting certain areas of study. Deleting DEI. Providing student discipline records to the government. That last is highly confidential stuff. And DEI has nothing to do with antisemitism, it is a completely seperate issue.

Sedition? Prosecute it to the fullest extent of the law, and not for instance pardon those that are convicted of it.

The problem is that resisting the executive branch when that branch is making unlawful demands isn't sedition. If the Trump administration wants information outside what is typically required under the law, they need to go to a judge and have him sign of on that request. If they don't then you, Harvard, or for that matter everybody has the right to not honor the request, and retaliation because of that isn't lawful.

A cop isn't allowed to come in to your house and search it without a warrant. And the DOJ isn't allowed to demand simply all information they have on a student without a subpoena.

Do you think the executive branch has the power constitutionally to demand information from a private entity, be it a school or business, about their clients, its customers, without the govt showing there was probable cause, to do so?

Even with social media, the govt needs a warrant to get that kind of personal information, and have good legal reason with probable cause of a crime being committed and that info is needed...

And Trump is just making up excuses to do this harm to Harvard...saying they didn't bow down and give him the names and info on all the international students attending Harvard, when the govt already has that information at their fingertips through the applications and acceptances of the Student Visas they had to get to attend Harvard.
