Anyone who's learned Spanish knows it's Latin roots.......and if you speak Italian you're almost speaking Spanish. They're closely related. You just pronounce certain words differently. There are a few different words used in each language that are different, but if he's fluent in Spanish I can see why he would want to speak it, especially since most Hispanics are Catholic.

Smartest thing I ever did was pay attention in Greek and Latin Vocabulary, in high school. You learn Latin, you can easily learn all the romance languages.

I've been to one Latin Mass and it was enough to let me know that I will love the Latin Mass when I get more conversant in Latin. The only church locally that has the Latin Mass is about 35 miles from me.

I watch the daily Mass on EWTN, which is largely in Latin, but it goes way too fast for me to grab.
