Marriage should be about a.shared belief in G-d.and the vows to.one another. This is why I am not a big fan of the automatic common-law after.living together.two years which we have in Ontario, hough I understand it.

This may be from out of Left Field, but I wonder if reliable Birth Control plays a part in the deterioration of the nuclear family. After the BC pill became ubiquitous, our entire society went to shit.

Obvious answer: we are end stage Rome.

We don't understand the meaning and value of marriage. We don't understand a lot, so of course, we just follow our real god....as the Bible puts it, "our stomach"

My wife and I have been married for 31 plus years. We have had our rocky times as any marriage does but nothing ever too serious. We broke all the "rules" when we got married. We met in a bar, had sex on our first real date and got married 11 months after meeting, during those 11 months we were a "long distance relationship" before the advent of cellphone, email or texting.

We have often been accused of being co-dependent on each other to which I am always like "yeah, what is your point?". Is that not the way we should be? We still hold hands when out together and still have PDA. We moved into a new house a couple years ago and after a few months our new neighbor asked my wife if the kids were from a previous marriage as she assumed we were newlyweds due to our "PDA".

Out of all our son's friends, we are the only set of parents still married. My wife and I both came from broken homes and we learned from them what not do to. I think this is one of our keys to success.

All of my sons friends are divorced. One only lasted 6 months before both wanted out. I think my sons lasted because they both agreed on a one child household.
