I find the same is true for me by participating in forum discussions. Having a tab open to google for facts and other information in effort to be accurate in my comments increases my knowledge over time.Putting my thoughts down on text not only helps me organize my thoughts but helps me understand the positions I take better. With each new post I learn something new.
I generally agree with those principles (except for one, about the role of Christianity and the Bible in public affairs. I know God but am not religious. I prefer a secular government and a society allowing all sincere religions equally, as well as atheism and agnosticism; but, all of the others seem like good ideas).I think you'll get a better understanding of the NatCon movement here.
I once saw a short interview with one of Reddit's founders in a small unfamiliar publication where he said Reddit was intended from the start as a reaction to conservative media and that it had taken on his own Leftist viewpoint.Reddit is....an experience for sure. It's toxic, it's highly left wing, and it's dominated by people who hold views but don't really understand why they hold these views.
Hope to see your ideas in discussion!
