Nazis weren’t forgiven and let back into the fold?
Chattel slavery is abhorrent. This isn’t a contest. It’s a discussion about whether we honor those who fought for abhorrent causes.
We made getting rid of them part of the surrender. The Union put no such requirements on Confederates.
Back then it was part of life, and was in the process of being banned. We weren't the first to do so, but we weren't the last either.
Hell Russia kept its serfs until the late 1800's/ early 1900's.
