While I agree it's problematic to suddenly yank funds without warning, all of these non-essential functions need to be defunded. The federal government is $35 trillion in debt and climbing. This is horrible. Headstart is a great program that helps young children from low income families. It looks like Trump and Musk are trying to cancel all the Great Society programs started by LBJ and Sargent Shriver back in the 1960s.
Do they want millions of people to return to the misery and poverty we saw pre-1960? That's what it looks like. Is this what Trump voters wanted?

These are essential. What is not is our 800 billion dollars annually spent on the military. How about cutting that in half? We spend more on our military than the other top ten military nations spend combined. This nation has lost more than 51 trillion dollars since 1990 due to racism. You don't want to fix that, instead, you cosign the racist jibberish. If not for racism, we'd be 16 trillion dollars ahead and as long as we do nothing about racism, we are going to continue losing over 1 trillion dollars per year.

Screw states rights. Some things need federal standards and focus. Educating our citizens should be a top priority of the federal government.
