'He Has Blood On His Hands': Columbia University Study Shows That Trump Could Have Avoided Over 130 Thousand Deaths

I'm not surprised with this article. We watched it all happen before our eyes since last winter.

Now, over 220 thousand people are dead. One of them is my favorite aunt.

We learn that at least over 132 thousand people wouldn't have died if trump had followed his own heath experts and did what Canada did. Or if he did what Germany did we would have saved over 179 thousand lives.

We were the leaders of the word. In just 4 years with trump we have become a laughing stock.

LOL, a study.

Kind of like how all those ads I see on TV saying Biden has a "plan" about COVID and yet it never goes into any details.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have a seven-point plan to beat COVID-19 and get our country back on track.

  1. 1

Fix Trump’s testing-and-tracing fiasco to ensure all Americans have access to regular, reliable, and free testing.
    • Double the number of drive-through testing sites.
    • Invest in next-generation testing, including at home tests and instant tests, so we can scale up our testing capacity by orders of magnitude.
    • Stand up a Pandemic Testing Board like Roosevelt’s War Production Board. It’s how we produced tanks, planes, uniforms, and supplies in record time, and it’s how we can produce and distribute tens of millions of tests.
    • Establish a U.S. Public Health Jobs Corps to mobilize at least 100,000 Americans across the country with support from trusted local organizations in communities most at risk to perform culturally competent approaches to contact tracing and protecting at-risk populations.
  2. 2

Fix personal protective equipment (PPE) problems for good.
Joe Biden will take responsibility, rather than leave states, cities, tribes, and territories to fend for themselves, and focus on producing more of these critical supplies in the United States. He will:
    • Fully use the Defense Production Act to ramp up production of masks, face shields, and other PPE so that the national supply of personal protective equipment exceeds demand and our stores and stockpiles — especially in hard-hit areas that serve disproportionately vulnerable populations — are fully replenished.
    • Build now toward a future, flexible American-sourced and manufactured capability to ensure we are not dependent on other countries in a crisis.
  3. 3

Provide clear, consistent, evidence-based national guidance for how communities should navigate the pandemic — and the resourcesfor schools, small businesses, and families to make it through.
    • Social distancing is not a lightswitch. It is a dial. Joe Biden will direct the CDC to provide specific evidence-based guidance for how to turn the dial up or down relative to the level of risk and degree of viral spread in a community, including when to open or close certain businesses, bars, restaurants, and other spaces; when to open or close schools, and what steps they need to take to make classrooms and facilities safe; appropriate restrictions on size of gatherings; when to issue stay-at-home restrictions.
    • Establish a renewable fund for state and local governments to help prevent budget shortfalls, which may cause states to face steep cuts to teachers and first responders.
    • Call on Congress to pass an emergency package to ensure schools have the additional resources they need to adapt effectively to COVID-19.
    • Provide a “restart package” that helps small businesses cover the costs of operating safely, including things like plexiglass and PPE.
  4. 4

Plan for the effective, equitable distribution of treatments and vaccinesbecause discovering isn’t enough if they get distributed like Trump’s testing and PPE fiascos.
    • Invest $25 billion in a vaccine manufacturing and distribution plan that will guarantee it gets to every American, cost-free.
    • As we enter the height of the political season, politics should play no role in determining the safety and efficacy of any vaccine. The following 3 principles should guide us: Put scientists in charge of all decisions on safety and efficacy; publicly release clinical data for any vaccine the FDA approves; authorize career staff to write a written report for public review and permit them to appear before Congress and speak publicly uncensored.
    • Ensure everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected — in America receives the protection and care they deserve, and consumers are not price gouged as new drugs and therapies come to market.
  5. 5

Protect Older Americans and Others at High Risk.
Joe Biden understands that Trump’s failed response has made older Americans and others at high-risk even more vulnerable.
  6. 6

Rebuild and expand the defenses that Trump has dismantled to predict, prevent, and mitigate pandemic threats, including those coming from China.
    • Immediately restore the White House National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense, which was established by the Obama-Biden Administration and eliminated by the Trump Administration in 2018.
    • Immediately restore our relationship with the World Health Organization, which — while not perfect — is essential to coordinating a global response during a pandemic.
    • Re-launch and strengthen U.S. Agency for International Development’s pathogen-tracking program called PREDICT, which Donald Trump cut.
    • Expand the number of CDC’s deployed disease detectives so we have eyes and ears on the ground, including rebuilding the office in Beijing, which shrunk dramatically under Trump.
  7. 7

Implement mask mandates nationwide by working with governors and mayors and by asking the American people to do what they do best: step up in a time of crisis.
Experts say that if 95% of Americans wear masks between now and December, we can save almost 70,000 lives. Joe has called on:
    • Every American to wear a mask when they are around people outside their household
    • Every Governor to make that mandatory in their state
    • Local authorities to also make it mandatory to buttress their state orders

Laugh it up fuzzball.
You won’t be laughing in a couple of weeks.

None of this is funny.

We are America. We are supposed to lead the world. Yet because of trump, we are a laughing stock.

I so hope that Biden wins in November.
Wow, another emo outburst from a lefty. The virus may not be funny but the panic is definitely amusing when you see it. Will you be OK once Trump crushes the election? I'm sure you've got a safe space somewhere :auiqs.jpg:

The upcoming election is unique........you must decided.......

Do you want to continue a Constitutional America as a Republic?

OR

Do you want a Socialist / Communist America with no concern for the US Constitution and Bill of Rights and mob rule ?

those really are the two choices.

His plan is pretty simple. Start encouraging the public to follow the CDC guidelines. Support our governors and mayors orders instead condemning them. Stop lying to the public about the virus.

More sad for you, that you are such a TDS pansy that you can't admit no matter what Trump does, you are against it.

when he restricted travel, i agreed with that - although he messed it up bigley.

but for weeks upon weeks all he did was praise china - ignoring the scientists & locking them out of meetings at the HHS. now we know why .... he had a secret bank acct in china that he was quite fond of.

where did he "praise china"

More made up bullshit.

How much was in the account? what was so secret about it? Is he the only businessman with business with China to have an account over there?

You don't think the NBA and the various teams that market there have accounts there?

15 times Trump praised China as coronavirus was spreading across the globe

By MYAH WARD
04/15/2020 06:27 PM EDT

POLITICO has compiled a list of 15 times the president hailed China for its push to prevent a pandemic in the early months of 2020 — an effort that ultimately failed:

Jan. 22, Twitter:
“One of the many great things about our just signed giant Trade Deal with China is that it will bring both the USA & China closer together in so many other ways. Terrific working with President Xi, a man who truly loves his country. Much more to come!”
Jan. 24, Twitter:
“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Jan. 29, Remarks at signing ceremony for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:
“And, honestly, I think, as tough as this negotiation was, I think our relationship with China now might be the best it's been in a long, long time. And now it's reciprocal. Before, we were being ripped off badly. Now we have a reciprocal relationship, maybe even better than reciprocal for us.”

Jan. 30, Fox News interview:
"China is not in great shape right now, unfortunately. But they're working very hard. We'll see what happens. But we're working very closely with China and other countries."

Feb. 7, Remarks at North Carolina Opportunity Now Summit in Charlotte, N.C.:
"I just spoke to President Xi last night, and, you know, we're working on the — the problem, the virus. It's a — it's a very tough situation. But I think he's going to handle it. I think he's handled it really well. We're helping wherever we can."

Feb. 7, Twitter:
“Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days … Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!

Feb. 7, Remarks before Marine One departure:
"Late last night, I had a very good talk with President Xi, and we talked about — mostly about the coronavirus. They're working really hard, and I think they are doing a very professional job. They're in touch with World — the World — World Organization. CDC also. We're working together. But World Health is working with them. CDC is working with them. I had a great conversation last night with President Xi. It's a tough situation. I think they're doing a very good job.”

Feb. 10, Fox Business interview:
"I think China is very, you know, professionally run in the sense that they have everything under control," Trump said. "I really believe they are going to have it under control fairly soon. You know in April, supposedly, it dies with the hotter weather. And that's a beautiful date to look forward to. But China I can tell you is working very hard."

Feb. 10, campaign rally in Manchester, N.H.:
“I spoke with President Xi, and they’re working very, very hard. And I think it’s all going to work out fine.”

Feb. 13, Fox News interview:
“I think they've handled it professionally and I think they're extremely capable and I think President Xi is extremely capable and I hope that it's going to be resolved."

Feb. 18, remarks before Air Force One departure:
“I think President Xi is working very hard. As you know, I spoke with him recently. He’s working really hard. It’s a tough problem. I think he’s going to do — look, I’ve seen them build hospitals in a short period of time. I really believe he wants to get that done, and he wants to get it done fast. Yes, I think he’s doing it very professionally.”

Feb. 23, remarks before Marine One departure:
"I think President Xi is working very, very hard. I spoke to him. He's working very hard. I think he's doing a very good job. It's a big problem. But President Xi loves his country. He's working very hard to solve the problem, and he will solve the problem. OK?"

Feb. 26, remarks at a business roundtable in New Delhi, India:
“China is working very, very hard. I have spoken to President Xi, and they’re working very hard. And if you know anything about him, I think he’ll be in pretty good shape. They’re — they’ve had a rough patch, and I think right now they have it — it looks like they’re getting it under control more and more. They’re getting it more and more under control.”
Feb. 27, Coronavirus Task Force press conference:

“I spoke with President Xi. We had a great talk. He’s working very hard, I have to say. He’s working very, very hard. And if you can count on the reports coming out of China, that spread has gone down quite a bit. The infection seems to have gone down over the last two days. As opposed to getting larger, it’s actually gotten smaller.”

Feb. 29, Coronavirus Task Force press conference:
“China seems to be making tremendous progress. Their numbers are way down. … I think our relationship with China is very good. We just did a big trade deal. We’re starting on another trade deal with China — a very big one. And we’ve been working very closely. They’ve been talking to our people, we’ve been talking to their people, having to do with the virus.”
15 times Trump praised China as coronavirus was spreading across the globe

When Trump covered for China’s alleged coronavirus coverup

The Wall Street Journal reports that Trump was advised twice in January to press China to be more transparentabout the outbreak in Wuhan. But Trump ignored the advice:

Early this year, several of Mr. Trump’s political advisers inside and outside the campaign urged him to take on China more directly, which they argued would have bipartisan appeal. One idea they suggested was a special commission to investigate the origins of the virus and whether Beijing responded sufficiently to control the outbreak.
Mr. Trump twice declined suggestions from his team in January to press [Chinese President] Xi [Jinping] for more transparency about the virus’s causes and symptoms, in one case saying that the criticism could cause Beijing to be less helpful, said White House officials.

In fact, Trump didn’t just decline the suggestions; he actually went in the opposite direction. Trump repeatedly praised China’s coronavirus response through late February. And on two different occasions, he actually vouched for China’s transparency, despite the advice.
Trump did so voluntarily on Jan. 24, tweeting, “The United States greatly appreciates [China’s] efforts and transparency.” He was then asked directly on Feb. 7 whether he was “concerned that China is covering up the full extent of coronavirus.” He said flatly, “No. … They’re working really hard, and I think they are doing a very professional job.”

i always back up what i say.

How much was in the account? what was so secret about it?

don't know yet - it literally was just reported on yesterday & there's more to investigate. if nobody knew about it - then it's a secret.

Is he the only businessman with business with China to have an account over there?

no, but if it wasn't declared in his taxes then there's a problemo... right? so to put it like donny always says: we'll see what happens.

You don't think the NBA and the various teams that market there have accounts there?

lol.... what? thems apples & oranges ... with a little strawman thrown in for good measure....bigley.

damn - how radical.

Trump had to contend with American governors like Andrew Cuomo using the virus to deliberately kill people in their states. No other national leader had that.

Would of should of could of....hindsight cowards make me sick....bench warming ne'er do wells.....

except it isn't hindsight when mitigation solutions were available & donny purposely ignored them AND has deliberately sabotaged all efforts since.

that's called committing genocide thru policy.

He doesn't have the power or authority to call for lockdowns or quarantines unless it involves cross-border travel, and even then the States have more to say than the federal government does.
They spit up this pablum out of one side of their mouths, right after they screeched XENOPHOBE! and AUTOCRAT! out of the other, when all air travel from China was shut down in January.

There's no winning for losing with these knuckle dragging shitheels, and this is just another example of that.

It's a bunch of buzzwords that make it seem like he would be doing something different, when most of the shit he is talking about is a LOCAL responsibility, and you morons would have lost your shit if Trump tried to implement it outside normal constitutional procedures.

the DPA is federal. PPP is federal. reinstating the pandemic response team is federal.

Well Trump used the DPA, what is Biden going to do, use it the same way Trump did, but more Democrat-y?

And of course they gotta burn race into it

Besides, back then even Fauci said only first responders and hospital staff needed masks. we were all just fine...

The US has 4% of the world's population and has had 20% of the covid-19 deaths, 5 times what you would expect. So if the US capabilities to fight an epidemic was no better than the rest of the world we should have had 1/5 the number of deaths or about 43,000. However since we were far better prepared to deal with an epidemic that most countries (John Hopkins said we were the best prepared), our actually number of deaths should be far lower than 43,000.

I believe Donald saw his options as working to stop the virus or winning the election. Of course he choose the latter. IMHO, had Trump been truthful about the virus, instead downplaying and had he supported the guidelines, he wouldn't be fighting for survival in this election. His biggest mistake in his campaign was telling the public what he thought they wanted to hear instead of what they needed to hear.

Well Trump used the DPA, what is Biden going to do, use it the same way Trump did, but more Democrat-y?

And of course they gotta burn race into it

  • Establish a COVID-19 Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task Force, as proposed by Senator Harris, to provide recommendations and oversight on disparities in the public health and economic response. At the end of this health crisis, it will transition to a permanent Infectious Disease Racial Disparities Task Force.

instead of implementing the DPA when he should have - he let big corp ship 17 TONS of PPE to china instead of keeping it here for our own use & medical people had to wear hefty bags instead. he was shamed into it.

You have links to that, right? and not ones that are just opinions on anonymous sources.

Besides, back then even Fauci said only first responders and hospital staff needed masks. we were all just fine...
Didn't think those goalposts were going to move themselves, didja?

Sounds like a plan from fascists for morons. Magnify the panic porn and force mandates like face diapers on us. What could go wrong? :slap:

So he's instead supposed to tell them to fuck off? oh wait he's doing that with regards to trade and you assholes blast him for that. Again, he can't do anything you won't bitch about.

Is it his account or one of his companies acoount?

No, that's pointing out you going apeshit over something all businesses involved with China probably do.

The US has 4% of the world's population and has had 20% of the covid-19 deaths, 5 times what you would expect. So if the US capabilities to fight an epidemic is no better than rest of world we should have 1/5 the number deaths or about 43,000. However since we were far better prepared to deal with an epidemic that most countries (John Hopkins said we were the best prepared) our actually number of deaths should be far lower than 43,000.

So every government reports COVID deaths and cases and positive results exactly the same to allow you to make this comparison?

What about 3rd world countries that don't test or report deaths as much, but count towards the world population?

Skewed numbers, nothing but.

What about countries that probably lie about their results, like China?
