Planting incriminating evidence has been something law enforcement agencies with rogue agent's working for rogue manger's or for themselves has been going on forever. This is why transparency is of the utmost importance whenever conducting any type of law enforcement action or investigation if want the people's support.

What went on here stinks of political corruption and malfeasance.

The removal of anything should have been inventoried on sight, numbered, and photographed. Then a witness or witnesses should have been allowed to view each evidentiary piece as it would be then sealed afterwards in witness there of by all involved, and taken to a secure vault to be unsealed with both law enforcement and the innocent until proven guilty parties are present for the unsealing of the inventoried materials, and an accounting taken of it all by both parties involved with lawyer's present.

Anything else is pure partisan witch hunt bull crap conducted by political agenda's that involved politically motivated individuals that had an ax to grind for political purposes.
