Having Second Thoughts About Trump...

When a candidate says they will "abolish the IRS", they are doing the worst sort of pandering. And the rubes who applaud that line are idiots being played like fiddles.

That's true if they aren't proposing to abolish the income tax. As long as the income tax exists, then taxpayers will have to determine their income, and that can never be made as simple as they claim, especially for businesses.
Ted Cruz's tax plan still has you paying income taxes, and he is still playing the rubes with his "abolish the IRS" song and dance.

Rubio possibly because he'd obviously take Fla, but imo he'd be a dangerous potus, and I'd never vote for him. Kasich or Jeb, for similar reasons, but they'll never be nominated unless the convention is hopelessly deadlocked and they just go with Jeb, in which case Hillary would probably win. I don't think Carley has it in that she will wilt.

See if I can do this fast, I am told my posts are to long.

Any repub is going to take Florida. Why? Because there is different Hispanic communities, and Floridas is mostly Cuban. They hate the Castro brothers, and despise Obama/Democrats for opening up with them again. If conservative says once a speech in Florida, "Castro likes Democrats," Democrat nominee will be lucky to get 35% of Floridas vote. Democrats already know this, and I still watch them on here try to convince repubs that the Florida Hispanic community will back Democrat nominee because we want to deport illegals. QUESTION; besides the sad deportation of Illian, when was the last time we deported a Cuban back to Cuba?

LOL, they get or used to get political asylum once they stood on American soil, hehehehehehe. None of them have to worry about going anywhere. Florida goes Republican this time overwhelmingly!

You know, they could get rid of the IRS

and start up the Fair Tax and Federal Liens Collection Office.

A shell game with names.

Only idiots claim there's no difference between a sales tax and an income tax. Do you know anyone who complains that their sales tax is intrusive and the enforcement agency is similar to the Gestapo?

You still need a federal bureau to collect the taxes--which is the point I am trying to make, but you are too dog-headed to realize the point.

P.S. I did not say there was or was not a distinction between a sales tax or the income tax. Why did you bring that up?

Because he makes shit up when he gets caught saying stupid things like the Treasury Dept could collect taxes instead of the IRS. [rolling eyes]

They are the suckers born every minute.

Ted Cruz could CRUSH hitlary.

In Texas. But then Teddy's numbers need to greatly improve for him to do jack shit much less beat Hillary. Right now your main man is a self-proclaimed whack job who beat his mother and tried to stab a friend in the gut. You should be so proud.

People who make those specious claims (income tax = sales tax) have never paid taxes in their lives.

We already have a federal bureau to collect all kinds of taxes. We collect tariffs. We collect excise taxes. We collect taxes on alcohol, tobacco and gasoline. These kinds of taxes are not in the same ball park as the income tax because they don't require you to fill out a detailed confession of any economic activity you've ever engaged in and turn it in to a Gestapo like agency with extraordinary powers to punish you.

And I just heard that too, that Trump is up again. I'm good with that.

I do like Cruz though, and Carson. I just think either of those are more "presidential" in the way they speak and conduct themselves. I love what Trump says he's going to do, I just wish he'd dial it back a notch.
This ^
Exactly!

This poll says one thing, that poll says another. **** em all
I think Trump and Carson will die down.
The way Trump acted Tuesday night made me cringe.
And Carson is only up there because he gave a speech and criticized ACA. Hell, I remember the day after, righties were saying "Carson for President". He doesn't seem to understand much of anything besides the human body
100% correct.

Like or despise Trump, he will probably be the nominee.

Only person who will defeat Trump is Trump.

IDK... believe it or not, he just might be a little TOO over the top for me. Some of things he says do make me go... "aaaahh... wha...?"

I started backing Cruz long ago, and I really would be all for him under any circumstances, and if Trump does falter, it will come down to Cruz and Carson, in fact, a Cruz/Carson or Carson/Cruz ticket would be awesome.

But Trump, I'm afraid the guy is going to self destruct. His last campaign stop in Iowa he said in response to Carson's story about a "knife breaking because it hit a belt," he said, "how STUPID are the people of Iowa?" So IDK, I don't think that helped him at all.

Cruz is a much better choice. He's smart.

Trump doesn't have the temperament to be President. He goes off half-cocked every time someone takes a run at him. Do you really want that guy determining if your grandkids should be sent off to war somewhere?

Don't confuse clever for 'smart.'

He's wrong on most – if not all – the issues, which isn't very 'smart.'

"...if Trump does falter, it will come down to Cruz and Carson..."

Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Perhaps one day we'll discover the mental defect common to many on the right that compels them to have contempt for sound, responsible governance.

I never did like that progressive clown show.
