I pay my fair share. Last year I made $56K and paid $5,000 in Income Tax, 3600 in SS Tax, and 1800 in state income tax. That's on top of property tax on my two properties.

I also dutifly reported all the money I made in my side business, even though it's mostly a cash business, and I could really hide it if I wanted to.

all Americans who use tax code to deduct losses use it for their benefit which is perfectly legal and encouraged. A business will average out monthly or yearly profits and losses when it reports income to the IRS, for example.
