Hate

No one gets to live in a world where they can always choose the righteous path. That's my complaint in the face of a religion that says you will suffer for eternity if you break these rules that are an extreme disadvantage in a world full of backstabbers. You must constantly ask for forgiveness for sin you will have to go out and commit all over again just to not suffer now.
I have never been in a situation where I was forced into, or had to commit a sin, so I cannot truly relate to that as you can. What I can relate to is Jesus' promise that sins are forgiven, although rightly so, we are to turn away from the sin and replace it with something else. I don't know the answer to, "What if there is nothing else?" I do believe in a loving and merciful God, so please do not give up praying as the Publican did: "God be merciful to me a sinner." Jesus noted that this was the man who was justified, so do not give up hope. The rest of us should be praying in thanksgiving we were not put to your test. And I do.

Think about the people born into hopeless poverty where they must lie, cheat, steal, kill and sell their bodies just for simple survival. No chance to be righteous. No reason in their mind to turn away from any chance to claw their way up. Were they born for no other reason than to be thrown into everlasting damnation? A moral life is only possible when the necessities of life may be obtained honestly.
If someone is forced to steal or to lie with a gun to their head, it's not their fault, but if they choose to steal because working is hard, then they're a thief and guilty. Besides, Islam has the Islamic law to prevent such situations from coming about. The feeding of the poor, the taking care of the orphans and the widows, the prohibition of alcohol and drugs, for example, all help the society and the individuals in need.

However each individual is also responsible for doing their best. A person who resorts to such disgusting things like selling themselves for food, is at fault, no doubt. A person who believes in God, knows where his food comes from. It comes from God. You want to survive? Then obey the commands of the one who feeds you - God.

Nor should you. But I am asking about the result of your actions. Did it contribute to the overall good in the minuscule part of the world in which you live, or did it make things worse?

And no, I am not talking about robbing from the rich to give to the poor. There were other options in that case. When you were backed into a corner, was there any improvement to your part of this world, or was the benefit purely selfish?
I really couldn't say. The things I feel the worst about are the times I had to use violence. I'm a pretty big guy and it is remarkably difficult for me to not hurt people pretty badly when all I wanted was for them to back up out of my face. In the end I blame myself for not finding some way out of it.

Looking back, can you now think of something else you might have tried?

Why would I hate God?

I do not see that as a rational position in any sense of the word. If I believed in God, at least in any of the monotheistic morality gods, then hate would certainly be a moronic thing to do. As I do not believe in God hate is nonsensical.

I could not hate God anymore than I could hate unicorns.
