Hey, does anyone know what the round hole like area on the blade by the handle is for? I can't find any info on it. I mean it may not be for anything. Just asking, thanks.

Do I know exactly what the designer of this particular item intended? no.

Do I have a similar hatchet that came with a list of what it could do that said that was for pulling tent stakes? Yes.

Its probably just a way to reduce the weight without weakening the ax head...

I don't think that hatchet's thick enough to be useful.

I bet I'd bend it. Get it stuck good and then bend the crap out of it trying to get it loose.

It should at least have a rib on either side.
