Hard Truths....What's Your Example?

Explain to me why we grew fastest 1945-1980 with a more fair tax rate that had higher tax rates on the wealthy. People still were here because its the best economy in the world. You have the wealthy convincing you that normal rates they paid for decades while we had less debt was worse than the abnormally low rates they are paying now and running huge deficits. Its crazy that you cant see that.
We were the leading producer of a World torn apart by War.

You funny man.

People who started out poor but were innovative or gutsy enough to take risks to work themselves out of poverty are not the people being referenced by the other member. Many, if not most rich people started out as anything other than 'rich.' I don't expect a leftist to understand the difference though.
I dont expect a righty to research your claims before you make them. Just like you to take an anecdotal story and make it the rule which is why you jokers live in fantasy.

53% which is MOST of better off people started better off
70-80% of people stay within one tier of their birth
The US is low on income mobility compared to European countries

Not in the 60's/70's. Look. We were just fine with the wealthy paying more. Now it is suddenly communism to have a normal tax curve? They have you so snowed with lies and your own ignorance that you cant see your own footprints.

Call it what you like, but it's just another example of government trying to manipulate society with tax policy. That's NOT why we granted Congress the power to levy taxes. We granted them that power to fund legitimate government functions, not to engage in social engineering.

Can't I argue that the government manipulated society with tax policy when they started dropping the tax rate at the top? They took decades of precedent of a working model and turned us into this debt model by cutting the top which resulted in historic wealth accumulated at the top. That seems like social engineering. Right? I am not being crazy here it is an honest challenge.

Enumerated powers. Yup

Which allows some to believe they are good and charitable people by simply casting a ballot on election day, which is just an example of false altruism. Of course, it is not the only issue people believe they have been responsible in regard to just because they kicked to the can up to Capitol Hill.
Some don't like it, some don't mind. The best service is to make sure you aren't one of the needy.

"If you're not part of the solution you're probably part of the problem."

You can make any argument you like. But taxes shouldn't be used to manipulate society.

Come on dude. We are the most successful nation in the world that is indisputable. What is debatable is who is prospering. It's not nirvana, kumbaya, heaven wishing to want some basic shifts in the funding of the government a bit more on the wealthy and to use the funds to ensure we have the poor fed, housed and access to healthcare, and the working class with affordable housing, affordable day care, affordable healthcare, and affordable education. None of that is crazy. Its basic tenets of an advanced society.
K-12 is very affordable. It's college that isn't.

Affordable daycare? Who can afford the results of screwing up their kids by placing them in the care of strangers in a social setting they are not prepared for. Don't our kids have enough problems?

Affordable healthcare? How is that possible when the number of sick people increases beyond the capacity of the healthcare industry to care for them.

We are a society in decline, not advancement.

You can do whatever you want with your wealth, you just don't have to grant the federal government the power to decide what other people do with theirs.

If you want better healthcare options, better schools and day care options, better law enforcement, better conditions for the poor or whatever, you need to talk to your neighbors and your state and local representatives where you have more influence over the outcomes, accountability and how the money is spent. Let the people vote for the taxes they pay at the state and local level.

Quit pretending your greedy ass can dig in whoever's pocket you want to pay for your imaginary utopia. Make the government accountable for the services it provides in manner where you actually have more control.

Try selling that shit you are preaching to the people in your community, and don't even concern yourself my vote or support. Or, you can put it back in the hands of the folks you keep bitching about screwing you up the ass and never providing you with the fantasy you so desire.

From the time I got out of high school until I got married at age 32 I was rolling in money. I almost always had a second job and shared rent with others, mostly friends from high school. I blew it all on wine, women, and R 'n R. I don't regret a single dollar. :2up:

Study lacks clarification, also very confusing.

Again, you IGNORE the fact we were INBALANCE between 1945-1980 with an effective 35% tax rate on the top 1% and it got CUT in the 1980s/2000's/2018's way back to 25%. You picking NOW as the baseline is bullshit. It is what it is to have a first world country. You dont like it then find another country that cost less where you can make more. It is your patriotic duty to pay taxes not theft you ingrate.

LOL. "Social Security does NOT add to the deficit".
"We need to increase revenue in this country".

That's about as hard and true as you can get. :(

Let me know when you achieve basic proficiency with the English Language.

Thanks.
I asked you to clarify how immigrant work is going to help the working class make life more affordable. Low paying immigrant work isnt going to make life affordable for anyone. We have a large population of working people struggling. There isnt a welfare program for healthy working adults to sit around and get money. What are you even talking about?

Your experience was certainly not our experience. We were dirt poor when we married and remained that way for some time before our work ethic, aptitude, intuition and other worthy attributes worked us out of it. We never became rich--we did not choose careers that usually make people rich--but we didn't have to worry about money for any of our needs. Being rich was never important to us. We had quality of life which is far more valuable for most people than being rich.

Listen genius. I am a c-suite corporate executive in the top half percent of incomes. I have multiple degrees and multiple homes. I could care less if you keep getting what you vote for which is less taxes for me and those way wealthier than me.

I’m just educating you on how we got to a place where folks like you worry about folks like me. I love it!
/---- Even if that's true, you're clearly not aware who pays teh most taxes on income.
The top earners in the U.S. pay the most income tax. In 2022, the top 1% of earners paid 40.4% of all federal income taxes, while the top 5% collectively paid over $1.3 trillion in income taxes, accounting for about 61% of the national total. The top 10% of earners paid 76% of all income taxes, and the top 25% paid 89% of all income taxes. This highlights the progressive nature of the U.S. income tax system, where higher earners contribute a larger share of the tax revenue compared to lower earners.
