Gun rights activists test Walmart request not to open-carry guns into store

Walmart is at complete liberty to implement any gun policy it so desires.
Patrons must follow that policy, not shop at Wal-Mart, or be trespassed off the property.
Not if bakers are forced to make cakes........if that remains as law, then those businesses that prevent the 2nd Amendment Rights of citizens will also be sued .....
The left hates the 2A, because it prevents them from creating a state monopoly on force.
We have a first amendment
We don’t need a second
It’s true that the First Amendment safeguards citizens from tyranny – not the Second.
The Second Amendment does safeguard the right of citizens to self-defense, and the possession of handguns pursuant to that right.
None of which has anything to do with patrons open carrying guns in Walmart stores - illustrating again the ignorance and stupidity of the thread premise and ‘gun rights’ activists.
It would be nice if you replied to something someone actually said.

It's a smart move by Walmart. Most of the public does not support open carry. They feel safer shopping, dining, and drinking in establishments where the public is not armed. This is due to the fact that the public does not believe our background checks are sufficient to keep guns out of the hands of nuts.

. . .

Then why did they shut down the loony bins?
Shutting down mental hospitals had nothing to do with background checks or guns as mass shooting were relatively rare in the later part of the 20th century, when we were closing mental hospitals.

With new drugs being introduced in the 60's and 70's, mental hospitals were found to be no more effective at treating mental illness than out patient treatment. The growing demand for mental health treatment would have required billions of dollars for more hospital across the country. So congress and the states jumped on the idea of closing mental hospitals and handling mental illness on an out patient basis.

Had we fully funded community health centers and provide for out patient mental health care, much of the problems could have been avoid. Unfortunately, legislatures saw community health centers as unneeded believing mental health problems could be treated at home with drugs without the need for guidance or therapy. Since out patient mental health treatment was not covered by most insurance or Medicaid the whole plan was a disaster. Tens of thousands of patients were released every year with a hand full of prescriptions and referrals to mental health clinics that most people could not afford. Obamacare expanded outpatient mental coverage somewhat, however Trump's lower cost short term health insurance reduces coverage significantly.

Interesting how the anti-gun loons haven't complained about Walmart, etc, misrepresenting their "change" in policy with regard to carrying guns in their stores.

"We'd prefer you do not, but we'll let you if you want to"

Of course, the left -always- put symbolism over substance, so I guess it's not a surprise..
