Greenland Temperatures Highest in at Least 1,000 years

The Greenland ice sheet is melting. By 2100 it will likely have added half a meter to global sea level all by itself.

Why were the temperatures so high 1,000 years ago? Was it CO2?

They weren't. That's just how far back they've looked. That's why they phrased it "...at least 1,000 years". ESL?

Ok, it is your story.

It is the story of a lot of scientists. There may be some debate whether or not the peak temperatures of the Holocene exceeded current temperatures, but no one believes it was warmer 1,000 years ago.

Coldest start to winter in decades for eastern Australia with power grid under strain

Early June temperatures in Melbourne didn’t go above 15 degrees for first time in 70 years as cold weather pattern starts to break
Remarkably mild weather up here in Mid-Australia. It's supposed to be Summer and we have had a few warm days; mostly less hot than usual.

Quite nice actually. A reminder that the temps here are in CENTIGRADE! Mostly less than 80oF.....in summer???

That is your story, I’d stick to it. 👍

DNA extracted from the previously ignored dirty bottom has revealed that Greenland was not only green, it boasted boreal forests like those found in Canada and Scandinavia today.Jul 5, 2007
