The Party of Abraham Lincoln is mostly supportive of USA becoming like Haiti and East African, laissez-faire nations subject mainly to drought and natural disaster. Mainly Governor Perry wants all Texans looking and living like Haitians and East African, especially next door to all Texas families. Rep Cantor is opposed to Disaster Relief.

In Great Socialist Australia, in contrast, there has been intervention and recovery from the floods. Mostly labor and Democrats are for what has happened in Australia. Opposed to the Austalian Recovery are Boehner-Cantor-McConnell--Romney--Perry-Huntsman-Cain-McCain-Palin-Bachmann--Gingrinch-Paul-Paul, Et. Al, and their staffers: GOP.

Likely Rep Cantor especially will introduce GOP legislation to Shoot All Australians In The Brain For Having Recovered From The Floods! That is What Socialists Do: Not Americans and Especially Anyone In Texas!

Australia is ranked #3 on the Heritage Index of economic freedom, dipstick. The USA is more socialist than Australia, not less

Australia's "socialism" is for the poor. THAT's the way it SHOULD be. Free market drives the bus, Socialism picks up the rest.

Conservatives here are like, if you are poor..please leave the country or die.

I spent 4 months in Aussie land! love that place!

anyhow, its funny how they have a HC system similar to Obama bill yet the conservatives still go nuts.

What lovely place and what a lovely brand or people. American govt and the Aussie govt have partnered to build multiple radars to support space track operations, thats what I do. love working with such intelligent peeps.

No one says the poor should die. However, being poor doesn't entitle you to anything from me. If you want to give all your money to the poor, no one is stopping you.

The Aussies have the same problems with welfare parasites that we have.

That's not how a nation works. The government collects taxes and distributes funding where it is needed.

A good example of that are the Texas wildfires. The are in need of funding to combat that.

Right, it APPEARS that way. Listing a bunch of programs doesn't prove a thing about the total amount of money they hand over to leaches and moochers.

To address the OP I have to point out that people are paying taxes to pay for the flood relief.

Taxable income Flood levy on this income Effective tax rate
$0 – $50,000 Nil 0%

$50,001 – $100,000 0.5c for each $1 over $50,000 0 - 0.25%

$100,001 and over $250 plus 1c for each $1 over $100,000 0.25 - 1%

For every program in Australia, one must remember that everyone who has an income over 6,000 pays tax.

In Australia these are the income tax rates according to wiki:

$6,001 – $37,000 15c for each $1 over $6,000 0 – 12.6%

$37,001 – $80,000 $4,650 plus 30c for each $1 over $37,000 12.6 – 21.9%

$80,001 – $180,000 $17,550 plus 37c for each $1 over $80,000 21.9 – 30.3%

$180,001 and over $54,550 plus 45c for each $1 over $180,000 30.3 – 45%

Even children under the age of 18 are taxed. Just at a different rate.

Taxable income Tax on this income Effective Tax Rate
$0 – $416 Nil 0%

$416 – $1,307 66c for each $1 over $416 0 – 45%

$1,307 and over 45% of total income 45%

Now having lived in both the States and Canada, we've experienced both rates of taxes. Now I do understand the Tea Partiers who don't want any more taxes especially when Government spending is so out of control.

And frankly I don't see Americans in general benefitting (sp? need more coffee)appropriately from the spending ie subsidies for rural airports to the tune of over $3,000 per ticket or stimulus spending to open a strip club .But that's not what the thread is about.

BUT what I don't understand are all the individuals who don't pay income taxes demanding that others pay more.

Make it across the board. That's eqality. Real tax equality. Oh and start to pay a goods and services tax that everyone pays. And I do mean everyone.

Pay a tax for your cab ride or for a tax to get your hair done and a tax on your purchase of a goldfish for your child or for your oscar tank. Even Conrad Black and I pay the same 5% (well in my province) tax for items or services.

BUT one more time, everyone pays.

The problem as I see it though in the America I love so dearly is that the government is so out of control on spending that it's mind boggling. And I'm not seeing the benefits to Joe Average at all.

Just debt. And bear in mind, I'm a conservative and I detest taxes. But if one demands universal health care for example, be prepared to pay.
The whole " only the rich must pay" boat won't float.

Everybody must pay because "free health care" isn't free. Trust me. :eusa_angel:

EDIT TO ADD: Just in case people don't know, Australia actually charges a medical levy. They have a two tier health care system and the surcharge is to "encourage" people to take out private insurance. Also most Aussies pay a Medicare surcharge. So called free health care is never ever free.

Medicare Levy Surcharge
What is the Medicare Levy Surcharge?

The Medicare Levy Surcharge is a Levy, or an extra tax, on Australian taxpayers who do not have private hospital cover and who earn above $77,000 for individuals and $154,000 for couples or families, increasing by $1,500 for each additional child after the first.

The surcharge aims to encourage individuals to take out private hospital cover, and where possible, to use the private system to reduce the demand on the public system.

The surcharge is calculated at the rate of 1% of taxable income. It is in addition to the Medicare Levy of 1.5%, which is paid by most Australian taxpayers. The Medicare Levy Surcharge is imposed on individuals and couples or families earning over the threshold who do not have an appropriate level of hospital insurance.

I really have to ask what the hell American politicians have to do with ANYTHING regarding the flood relief in Australia?

This is one of the most deranged OP's I've ever seen. I've just had my second coffee and I'm really getting a grip on what you posted.

Honestly and with no offense intended, could you please ask your therapist to up the voltage just a tad?

Man you are a fool! First Haiti and Eastern African are FAR from free societies. Second, Australia is far from a socialist society. They have less regulations, lower taxation and are more business friendly than the US!

Anyone can see that the first great principle is to register your bank information with Australian Medicae. That may be where Obama-Reid-Pelosi, et. al., actually went wrong? That is not in the ObamaCare messages, but posters in this thread seem to claim that registering all bank information with the National Health Plan is what laissez faire is all about!

Medicare

Haiti and East Africa can only now wish for a laissez faire like Australia has on the books.

Apparently Texas, land of federal contracts, employment, and military spending largesse: Is right in there with Haiti and East Africa(?)! Governor Perry is asking for aid workers, in the form of fire-quenching kinds of assistance. Haiti and East Africa have that, too: In a different form.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Perry Governor seeks tongues of many prairie vipers--even from Lands of Many Nations(?)!)
