“Hail Trump! Hail our people! Hail victory!” white nationalist leader Richard Spencer famously chanted as he led his followers in a toast and raised stiff-armed salute to the new chief after Trump’s election over Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Richard Spencer, an avowed racist, antisemite and admirer of Nazism who coined the term “alt-right” and was a featured speaker when he took part in the deadly 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Va., called Harris the “best manager of the American empire.”
Spencer — who also gained international recognition after yelling “Hail Trump! Hail our people!” and being greeted with Nazi salutes during a white nationalist event in November 2016 — also condemned former President Trump’s strong support of Israel.

Balmer's mother told CBS and the Associated Press on Monday that she tried to get him assistance for his mental health, but “nobody would help.” She told the news outlets her son had bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. “He wasn’t taking his medicine, and that’s all I want to say,” Christie Balmer told the AP, speaking in Harrisburg.
An ex-girlfriend called state police this week and said Balmer confessed to her that he started the fire and asked her to turn him in, according to the criminal affidavit related to the arson.

Online records show Balmer is registered as an active voter, but did not declare a political party; he last voted in the 2022 General Election.
