So people are “guilty” solely because they are employed by the federal government? That is it? Isn’t that kind of warped? Why don’t you go after tbe lawmakers and policy makers who created this system you despise? Is it because it is easier to target people who have no power over you and can’t fight back?
That isn’t entirely true. There is usually a process for letting people go starting from determining where, specifically, cuts need to be made to how they need to be done (RIFs, furloughs, poor performance, attritions etc.). It isn’t done in the manner (which may well be illegal) that has been unfolding in less than a couple weeks from the freezing of grants to the chaotic closures of entire agencies. How would they have anticipated and prepared for this in an America that was previously run according to laws, rules and norms that are now irrelevant?
It is this sort of messing with peoples lives that is way wrong whether in the Federal government or private sector and it is made worse when people are HAPPY to see it done like this.

It is a vendetta against them as a group, independent of personal circumstances, which in my mind, is just as bad.
And no. The left would not be doing this or view it like this. They’ve been in charge before and done nothing like this. They are generally pro labor and pro worker’s rights, so quit trying to say they’re tbe same, you know better.
I am going suggest Republican do not either and will continue to play out as we see a swelling deficit and a purge of knowledgeable career non-political civil servants who know what they are doing. Look, they already begging (or demanding) that those in critical positions who they previously deemed worthless return to work. That is an indication of how botched this is.

Elon Musk posted on X, the names and information of several low level federal workers who were employed in science projects he had little understanding of but they involved science he didn’t agree with, I assume, Trump of course, retweeted it. One (and probably all) was so deluged with hate messages and death threats on her personal social media accounts she had to shut them all down.
What did she do to deserve this?
These peopLe who are supposed to be “for” tbe average person are instead singling out those who are powerless against them for MAGA mob vitriol…and they’ve done nothing to deserve it.
