The Global South has lost all contact with reality. Ghana demands compensation for slavery in a landmark UN vote. It’s time for the UK to demand compensation for removing slavery from Black Africa. What do you think — will African states pay the UK for removing slavery from Black Africa?
ps

Ghana and UN´s bullies (so called the "global south") bandy need go back to School !

In Ghana there were families who main income was from the sell of their fellow Africans in the slave trade to other nations.
Will compensation be demanded from them?

A good question. What we see today is that the modernist, so‑called Global South is taking full advantage of the postmodern West — and at least 50% of people in the West don’t mind, or even like, being taken advantage of.

The Fante and Ewe groups in Ghana participated significantly in the slave trade. You only need to look at the forts and castles along the coast, from Keta to Elmina. The coastal states cooperated with Europeans and even signed agreements with them, such as the Bond of 1844.

The idea of reparations from Ghana (or virtually any other African country) is a joke, from a historical point of view. All African states were major participants in the slave trade and stopped only after European colonial expansion were they forced to end the criminal practice.

weren't they paid for the slaves they sold?
+1

ps The Moscow Bolshevik empire used forced labor (the slaves) until 1991. Shouldn’t the Moscow empire pay slave reparations first?

This resolution is a one-sided view of slavery in Africa. It is just a political statement that does not carry weight. Most of the UK public are opposed, but ethnic minority adults, and black adults in particular, are in favour of the resolution. Are the descendants of convicts in Australia entitled to reparations from the UK, too?

Countries like the UK have long rejected calls to pay reparations, saying today's institutions cannot be held responsible for past wrongs.

Unlike UN Security Council resolutions, those from the General Assembly are not legally binding, though they carry the weight of global opinion.

"Let it be recorded that when history beckoned, we did what was right for the memory of the millions who suffered the indignity of the slave trade and those who continue to suffer racial discrimination," Ghana's President John Mahama told the assembly ahead of the vote.

It's time reparations are paid to Africans by Africans for Africans holding Africans in slavery.

500 000 non-musim slaves, did Ghana ever try to challenge Nigerian or any other large Muslim nation ?

Don't you have a Klan meeting to get
“I don’t, of course — but you, 🇷🇺ivan, do. You’ve got a lot in common with the KKK.”
putin´s brain Alexander 🇷🇺 Dugin meeting his U.S. counterpart, a head of Ku-Klux-Klan David Duke.

Still working for the 🇷🇺 FSB? Didn’t they cut your borsch ration after your last error on the 🇷🇺 southern front (FSB platform) ?
