What if rising oil and gasoline disruptions curtail or terminate the upcoming college and NFL seasons?

GoogleAI Overview:

"Yes, rising oil and gasoline disruptions could negatively affect the 2026 college and NFL seasons by reducing in-person attendance, forcing ticket price adjustments, and raising travel costs for fans and teams.

"While the NFL is traditionally 'recession-resistant,' sustained high fuel costs could test this, particularly for teams with geographically spread-out fan bases or in rural area."

The high price of tickets will be more detrimental to the upcoming seasons over oil and gasoline.

Ticket price increases are the only reason why I watch all my games on television even though I live within walking distance of the LA Coliseum.

About 10-15 years ago Nebraska came into the Coliseum after a decades-long lapse between the previous meeting.

A photo revealed an $8 ticket price to the 1970s Fall contest.

The spring before Nebraska's return to LA (~2010) I'd spent $10 for a ticket to USC's spring scrimmage.

It has only gotten worse.

All those "million dollar men" can fookin' well pass the hat for all I care.
Elite college and professional football serve a "bread and circus" function in the US. In the wake of 9/11 US football games were suspended for one week, giving some Americans an opportunity to ponder how two commercial aircraft collapsed three, steel-framed skyscrapers into their own footprints.

In a worse case scenario, the current conflict in Iran could result.in global supply change disruptions, possibly requiring rationing by kick-off 2026:

The seven stages of meltdown, coming our way

"Fifthly, supply chains then become disrupted.

"This will most obviously be the case with regard to food, but this will also become apparent in the supply of a whole range of other raw materials, and as it does, major economic obstruction will develop and absolute shortages will appear, with people being forced to go without essential items unless government intervention happens.

"This will be happening over the summer, and most certainly by early autumn."
