Is this for real? I mean, it is Germany, so I guess I can't be all that surprised.

Included in these enlightened ranks we can now add a German jurist from the city of Wuppertal. Last week, the judge convicted two German-Palestinian men of attempted serious arson against a synagogue in the city, along with a juvenile accomplice. But in his ruling, the wise man of the law declared that the crime was motivated not by anti-Semitism, but instead by a desire to “bring attention to the Gaza conflict.”

I've never been particularly comfortable with "hate crime" laws, anyway.
Me neither....I just want it to be a crime if someone is assaulted or their place is burned to the ground by a malicious act..

It shouldn't matter WHY you plant a bomb and set it off. The punishment should be the same.

Thems fightin words with Al Sharpton.

Not quite.

I've actually discussed the issue with Rev. Sharpton. He understands my position, whether or not he agrees with it.
Very different with how he acts in front of an audience, whether live or on TV. He an A#1 asshole.
In person, he's a very nice guy, actually.

Says a poster who is on record as indicating that even the stated desire to gather Jews in one place so they can be liquidated all at once shouldn't be considered antisemitic.

I have a feeling he wouldn't be all that nice speaking with me.

Because I can't hide my feelings about that sorry excuse for a human being.

Oh, you mean you wouldn't be able to nice to him.

That makes more sense, he's got more class than you do.

Apparently he and you have about equal class...if you can call it class.
