They still keep their constituents in bondage today through various handouts along with segregation of races, ethnicities, minorities etc. They worship control and bow to govt.

Old Regime of West European serfdom was as humane as possible. Serfs were not owned by anyone. They had to pay about 30% cumulative tax to work nobles land.

Serfdom in Russia and West Europe was legally close to Slavery. American Slaves had work obligations 2.5 times as high as Russian Serfs. That was the system for which Progressives fought in 1770s and 1780s.
