There seems to be an information deficit within Russia…The novel 1984 is a warning about the potential tyranny of governance

I have visited Russia many times and nearly all of the surrounding countries .
Forget the cheap jokes about being a Commie etc .Nonsense .

But I am sad to report that for a variety of reasons Russian youngsters are more intelligent , savvy and smart versus their US ( and UK ) counter parts . And by a country mile .
Not even a competition .

Orwell is joint Top of the Pops for top 20th century novels / authors wherever you live .
As I said , they are far from backward and also much more hard working .

Russians lived Orwell’s 1984 during the Soviet era. It now appears to be Americans turn to suffer government tyranny.

"The United States recognizes Ukraine's right to plan and conduct military operations in Crimea." Coordinator of Strategic Communications of the US National Security Council John Kirby
His argument: The States consider the peninsula to be Ukrainian territory

According to this logic, the Sioux Indians can conduct military operations in the United States

Its great that a leading socialist author is still popular today.

My experience of Moscow is that it is not a communist country. It looked more like the Klondike when I was there. Huge inequalities.
