Was it too profound? Auden published the poem shortly after the outbreak of WW2.
So then why are you bringing it up here?
Not all Jews support Israel's policies towards the Palestinians.
What policies? Be specific.
Theoretically any criticism of Israel, its policies, its government or its politicians is not in and of itself anti-Semitic
So I'll ask again, what specific criticisms of Israel are you making that is being called antisemitic?
You are dancing around the question and refusing to answer it.
So what policies specifically are you criticising? Not a general, vague answer. Actual policies.
but some, particularly on the Jewish Right, and their supporters, do not see it that way. And criticism of Israeli policies towards the Palestinians in particular will lead to accusations of antisemitism.
See, you're just dancing around the question but not answering it.
So I'll ask again, what criticism of which policies are you making that people are calling antisemitic? This shouldn't be hard to answer.
Look at Israeli reaction to countries that have acknowledged a Palestinian state. Remember Netanyahu's accusation against Australia and France? He accused the leaders of both countries of fuelling antisemitism.
What do you think a Palestinian state realistically looks like?
Do you think it would be a democracy like Israel? Do you think it would be a Constitutional Monarchy like they want to bring back in Iran? Or do you think it would just be another Islamist dictatorship like almost every other Muslim country?
What kind of nation are you building by recognizing a Palestinian state?
We tried nation building in the ME before. It didn't work. Not when Bush the Dumber did it. Not when Obama did it. So why would
this nation building be successful when all of theirs wasn't? You're not smarter than them.
It's real easy for you to say that you have no idea what that Palestinian state would actually be because you're not the one living beside it.
