The constitution basically says the executive is supposed to do what the legislative tells them to.
The only legal way the executive can bar congressional members is if the majority of congress wants the specific members to be barred.

It is illegal for there to be a federal law that prohibits convicted felons from having firearms like the 1968 federal firearm act tries to do.
And many states have acted to counter this illegal law by specifically granting convicted felons the right to own firearms after their sentence is up.
Any liberal, progressive, or leftist, like me, should be outraged over any federal firearm law at all, since it is clear from the constitution that all federal jurisdiction over firearms is totally prohibited.

That is probably true, so what they should have done is bring a DOJ representative who is responsible for ensuring facilities are compliant with the laws. That would have made it less partisan.
