Should the Rebels who tortured and then executed Gaddafi be charged for war crimes?

Here is a video of part of the incident in question: BBC News - Video shows Gaddafi captured in Sirte

Is there any justification for killing a defenceless man on the spot? Is there any justification for roughly handling a prisoner of war to the point where he gets turned upsidedown on to his head? Is there any justification for attaching a wounded man to the front of a car and then driving it, at some speed, down the road for fun?

If these arent war crimes then what are they? Should these Rebels at least face a court? Do you think its likely that they ever will? How different do you think the medias reaction to these images would've been if it was one of the members of Libyas Transitional Council (or whatever its called) being tortured and executed, in the same way, by Gadaffi loyalists?

Don't do the 'crime' if you can't do the 'time'. He reaped what he sowed, yes he did. Good riddance.

You haven't a clue, do ya. No understanding of the nature of the beast, so to speak. The region is still very tribal in nature, hence it's not European or American in it's make up, this is how regime changes are often affected in tribal cultures. Destroy the head and you destroy or disperse the body.

Is there any justification for killing a defenseless man on the spot? Is there any justification for roughly handling a prisoner of war to the point where he gets turned upside-down on to his head? Is there any justification for attaching a wounded man to the front of a car and then driving it, at some speed, down the road for fun?

Those Libyan rebels, like Colonel Oliver North in Iran Contra affair, were under directives of US and NATO members. You forget that Colonel Muammar Gaddafi had threatened NATO members for years by managing his own national affairs and thus keeping Libya debt free and independent.

It was more in the nature of a delayed Karmic beat down. He did not get all that he earned, but he got enough.

Colonel Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi was a thousand times human than all of UN, NATO and all AU members who signed his death warrant combined!

The Colonel governed his Libya without string from imperialists and managed to keep Libya independent, while holding imperialists at bay. Any leader capable of putting a leash on our noted imperialists for years is a superb leader and a friend of L'Afrique!

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi fought a heroic fight and finished his course. The Colonel sleeps.

He kept Libya impoverished and made it into a pariah. If he had spent that money on schools and roads and the like, Libya would have been as rich as monaco. Hey blew it all and all that weath ran through Libya's hands like so much sand.

Colonel Gaddafi kept Libya free from reins of imperialists and kept Central Bank of Libya independent of IMF, World Bank and their allies. According to neighborhood bully NATO, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi had threatened NATO members for years by managing his own national affairs and thus keeping Libya debt free and independent.

He set bombs on airplanes and supported terrorists and invaded his neighbors. He was a pest and a nucence at best, a tyrant and despot at home and a thug abroad.

It was technically a terrorist/insurgent action. Since the rebels were not officially sanctioned by their government nor were they an official army.

I've never heard of rebels being sanctioned by the government they are trying to topple. What is that the Marquis of Blackpools rules?
