Joe Ramirez's stepbrother, Josh Rios, took the stand on day three and provided extensive details about the events leading up to the fatal stabbing.

A male friend of Ramirez, who filmed the fight on his phone and later deleted it, confirmed that there were plans between him and Allison to fight, but it was not supposed to take place on school grounds. A female friend of both Allison and Ramirez indicated that she tried to have both of them defer their conflict until after graduation.

She also mentioned that she was afraid to testify, as Ramirez' friend group was known for scaring and fighting people, even confirming that she would classify them as bullies.

Two other male friends of Ramirez, who were also present that day when the stabbing took place, went into how the conflict between the two began, which was at a prom after party held by Allison's girlfriend, and what they did after the stabbing occurred.

One of the witnesses said that it wasn't unusual for the group to meet up in the boy's bathroom just to hang out, and didn't know a fight would be happening. It was revealed that Ramirez started the fight and that Allison didn't want to fight.

He also said that after he realized Ramirez had been stabbed, he ran from the bathroom. He also stated that he had no knowledge that Allison was armed until Ramirez clutched his side from the wound and Allison had closed his knife.
