French citizens don’t like high taxes

The French do like high taxes. They just don't like paying them. The immigrants especially like high taxes. They know they won't pay them.

Who would have thought that people don’t want to work their rear ends off to support themselves only to hand more than have most of what they earned to be taken by people in government who did nothing?

Why would this be a problem? Don’t they know that the politicians are better than everyone else and that’s why they get to sit around in luxury hotels discussing non existent problems like global warming while the lowly peons scrape by?

Well they voted in the fucks they have governing them.

They get what they voted for.

Maybe we should be like France

Well...

In order to "be like France" we'd have to get our asses kicked by the British and the Germans a few times, without that we can't get in touch with our inner "Frenchness". :dunno:

"The only thing that's worse than having Britain as an enemy is having France as an Ally."

This right here is why our Electoral College system works well for us, because in France they use a popular vote count which means the big population centers pretty much control the elections and those living in the rural areas don't really matter. So, a good old-fashioned riot is just about their only way to get the attention of the elitist powers that be, who BTW all live in or near Paris. Whereas we don't have that problem, particularly with regard to the US Senate that allocates 2 and only 2 Senators to each state in the union regardless of size or population. So, those of us who don't live in the big cities still have some say in what goes down, and that means less likelihood of a riot in the US. Which we have anyway once in awhile for various reasons but usually because the rioters don't feel like they're being listened to or treated fairly.

I think one of France's biggest problems is that it's basically a socialist country that doesn't want to pay the high taxes that are necessary to support the big gov't and expensive social programs that the people want. Probably they would be more amenable to the high taxes if they believed they were getting their money's worth in benefits back, but too many middle and lower classes don't feel that is the case. There's a lot of class warfare going on over there and also issues between the urban vs rural dwellers. Throw in the problems with all those migrants and refugees from Africa and the ME and you kinda have a problem. Too many takers and not enough givers, and the givers that live outside the big cities are being squeezed a little too much.

The French populous that pays taxes are pissed that their taxes are going up, cost of living is going up, wages are not keeping pace, the government is raising the age of retirement, reducing their pensions and benefits all because the percentages of the population that is paying is shrinking and the percentage of the population that is receiving is increasing.

Kind of sounds like where we are headed, don't it?
