This link shows how the IDF treat the press.
There are no weapons, and the soldiers (I use the term loosely) are aware of this.

Is this an acceptable way to treat journalists?

The soldiers kept telling them that this was a closed military area, and called them to go out, but they didn't listen.

However, I do agree that they should have found a better way of making them leave, without the physical approach.

But, well, that's journalists in Israel and Palestine.

Speaking of which. Since you're concerned for the press, do you mind commenting regarding THAT?:eusa_whistle:

Also wrong, of course, just very unlikely to be a matter of policy. Please comment on the video I posted? THAT is clearly a matter of policy. All journalists are required to submit stories to Israeli censors? Who squelch anything that might "inflame feeling" or whatever the term was?

**** off, asswipe.

Has the poster that left that comment with a red brick, got the balls to actually put forward his point of view, argued in a reasonable manner, or is he just proving what a daft bastard coward he is?

This is our state, we're the bosses.

Fred: Thanks for stalwartly IGNORING the violence against real journalists committed daily by so many OTHER nations' governments in your quest to slam Israel.

Such behavior on your part severely erodes whatever credibility you may have had. When many nations do such things and a person ONLY condemns Israeli actions - their biased POV becomes quite clear.

That's hardly fair. This forum is entitled Israel and Palestine, which is what Fred was discussing. If you want to bring in "press freedom in Afghanistan" there's a forum for you to do so, should you so desire. The topic revolves around violence against journalists in Israel and Palestine, consequently violence to journalists elsewhere in the world is irrelevant and only serves to cloud the issue.

Press reporters are a pain. They create havoc. Why were they there when they shouldn't have been. You ought to see how they take part in Pallywood productions.

If genuine, this video shows a series of direct attacks on protected persons in contravention of article 79 of the 3rd Geneva Convention. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a war crime as defined by the Rome statute of the ICC. The issue is, however, when was the video taken, by whom and and in what circumstances?

June 22 at the height of the search for the 3 kidnapped teens, in the Hebron area. The Israeli forces need to carry on with their investigations without the interference of cameramen etc.

Press can be restricted in cases of danger, security or when press might leak information before and during an operation that would pose a danger to police/soldiers. Press might not like it but it saves lives.
Press are supposed to report news not create news or become the story by going where they should not be.
Press today have become bullies and push everyone's buttons by their interference and creative reporting. Sometimes they just have to cool their heals and wait for the someone of authority to come forward and give a report of what is happening.
They put themselves at far greater risk that some stories deserve. When reporter get in the middle of two sides, it is very possible that the nightly report will be on their death.
Just because your hat or vest says press, it does not mean you have to be caught in the middle of a conflict area.
When press are told to move back and wait, it does not mean use the camera as a bulldozer and push your way through.

Indeed, cockroaches do not like the light of day.

Why not? Journos would be lying their asses off, manipulating footage, running physically interference, etc. anyway, so kicking their sad arses is a non-issue, of course.

Now that's some funny shit coming from a Muslim. Islamofacist terrorist worshipping IndoFart complaining about freedom of press and speech in Israel. OMG, hilarious.
