Is that why you called 'most' of us "stupid children" earlier in this thread?
Have you looked at America lately?
Yup, I have. I have kids with kids working hard to keep them healthy and educate them. I have nephews and a niece who are brilliant and in college. Some of the shit they're working on boggles my mind - with the help of their peers they can and will change the world. Just because stupidity is noisy doesn't mean that America is stupid.
I come from the West Coast, Seattle specifically and I have lived in Texas, Colorado and the upper Mid West. Last summer I worked my way up and back down the Eastern Seaboard. I've seen a lot of America and I've met LOTS of Americans. All are hardworking and just want a level playing field. So far this summer, I drove my personal vehicle from SE Florida to Houston, TX and back - a small window on America, 'tis true, but I can honestly say that I've seen Americas bones and I've met her soul. As in need of maintenance as our infrastructure of roads, bridges, airports, shipping facilities, power grid, communications grid, etc is, we still have an infrastructure that is not only the envy of the rest of the world, but as busy as I've ever seen it. And, in spite of the traffic, my average speed from Mississippi to S. Florida was 73 mph. The freedom to travel unrestricted through 5 states and back rocks. America's soul is alive and well.
America rocked when Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan served their terms, America rocked when Bush and Bush II were separated by 8 years of Clinton. America rocked back then and America rocks now. It matters not who is getting the headlines for our politics - we're not working for them. True, the big scare tactic has been that soon we will be, but look around - it is NOT going to happen. We, The People will NOT allow it. The most recent election may not have been perfect, but it was the best possible outcome for the economic war we are fighting - war is never pretty, even intellectual warfare.
This is being typed on a 9 year old made in the USA Mac while I sip a tasty brew named Landshark that was made in Jacksonville FL and listen to my personal selection of Classic Rock. I'm looking forward to playing my American made Martin guitar and taking my American Mutts to the beach this weekend in my American made Jeep. I worked hard this week and I deserve some play time. I just realized that I still have my American made cowboy boots on - they're
that comfortable.
I don't live here because I was born here, I live here because I choose to live here. I've been to Europe, Canada, Mexico, S. Africa and India and I choose to live in America.
I can walk into a bar or market and strike up a conversation with men and women of many colors, backgrounds and belief systems... we'll agree on lots and agree to disagree about some. And if we're not careful, we may just learn something.
Don't give up on America or Americans. Don't make the mistake of counting the American soul as 'irrelevant'...
America Rocks!
