Former GOP. Rep who once voted against the Affordable Care act becomes paralyzed in accident and is asking for $2.5 million on GoFundMe

Help me out here, Ben Carson is a world renowned neurosurgeon and RFK Jr is a lawyer, why isn't Carson over HHS? Make it make sense.
I half expected him to bring Carson back. But Kennedy is heads and shoulders about the lawyer Biden has had in there.

That is a combat vet

Your ducking retard
Except that the VA doesn’t automatically cover all veterans, especially when they don’t have service connected conditions.

More failures if socialized medicine

Guess govt healthcare is finding ways to cut cost

And leaving Vets literally paralyzed

Still haven't seen how obamadon'tcare is supposed to have made his treatment any cheaper.

Responsible adults have health insurance in case they suffer serious medical issues instead of sponging off others.

Responsible adults have health insurance ...
Horseshit. Responsible adults pay their own way. Despite the persistent claims of the insurance industry, insurance isn't the only way to do that. It's not even a very good way for most us.

Insurance is one of the biggest problems with health care. We abuse it and have delusional expectations. Insurance is a financial instrument to offset risk for people who have something to risk. You get insurance so that your savings isn't depleted if something unexpected happens. If you have no savings, you don't need insurance. You need money.

We've come to see health insurance as a club we can join to score "free shit". It can't work that way. It wasn't working. That's why ACA was passed, to prop up a failing business model and ensure insurance company profits at the taxpayers expense. No one paying attention believed it would make health care more affordable.

No, it’s by far the best way for most of us.

Very few people have access to the resources necessary to deal with a severe medical illness.

Not sure how you expect people with no savings to get money when they get sick.

Former New York Rep. Michael Grimm is paralyzed after being thrown from horse during polo tournament, friends say

Let's all give him our thoughts and prayers USMB.

I don't get your thread title.

It seems pretty transparent that you are trying to make a statement. Then you piously ask for prayers.

You are sick.

Not the way we currently use it. Group insurance is a doomed pyramid scheme that drives spiraling health care costs. Actual insurance, catastrophic insurance for unforeseen emergencies, can make sense. ACA outlawed that kind of insurance.

Our abuse of insurance, and abuse of the regulatory state, has created that problem. More of the same won't solve it.

I don't. They need charity. Insurance isn't charity.
