Former GOP. Rep who once voted against the Affordable Care act becomes paralyzed in accident and is asking for $2.5 million on GoFundMe

So tell us how Biden failed him or the VA. You post your bullshit you know nothing about and no links to back up your bullshit.
Did you not read the OP? He’s forced to start a gofundme page and ask for charity

The question is whether they are forced to buy health insurance.

I don't care what you think. The kind of meddling you're advocating for is what has driven health care prices irrationally high. If people were paying for most health care out of pocket, and only using insurance for catastrophic events, prices would come down to something reasonable. There's no innate reason health care should be too expensive for the average person to afford. But it is, and that's primarily because we're over insured.
You have an outdated view of medicine.

Healthcare costs are not driven by episodic illness but by management of chronic conditions.

How well do you think diabetics are going to do with just catastrophic coverage?

Ok, so he is. Gotcha. Thanks
No I don't know that he is eligible all depends if he applied and what category he may be listed as.

I'm done with you, you seem to think you know every goddamn thing about veterans health categories and don't know shit. Not to mention anyone with injuries like he has incurred probably (unless dirt poor) want to be treated in a VA hospital.

So it failed him.

That’s all I was saying

This is a sad indictment of harris and xiden…a decorated, combat vet, is forced to create a gofundme page to take care of medical bills.

I have a market based view of medicine. You have a socialist view of medicine.

The reason there's no affordable health care is that there's no demand for affordable health care. Health care consumers are either covered by insurance, and don't care how much their health care costs. Or must rely on welfare or charity, and don't care how much their health care costs. Since health care consumers don't care how much health care costs, prices go up.

If most people were paying for most of their health care out of pocket (like they pay for all their other needs), there would be a demand for affordable health care and the health care industry would respond to that demand.

The "Affordable" "Care" Act is law, regardless of Rep. Grimm's vote.

Notice how ineffectual this atrocity is in making care affordable for guys like Grimm living in leftist states?
i'm a little concerned about "personal responsibility" of a guy who needs a go fund me for such an accident. where is his insurance?

the affordable health act IS well within the affordability range of polo pony owners.

That’s the purpose of insurers. To facilitate affordable health care.

If consumers use too much, the premiums are too high. If consumers use too little, their chronic conditions become debilitating illnesses.

Your market view is warped unless you recognize what medical care is like.

But they don't do that. They make health care less and less affordable. So that everyone thinks the only way to get health care is to get health insurance. That's great sales scam for health insurance companies, but it's mutilated the health care market and made health care too expensive for the average person.

The same thing would happen to the price of food if we bought into the idea that insurance was the best way to pay for groceries.

Not sure how you think that insurance is making medical care more expensive for people who aren’t on insurance.

Insurance tries to make costs for the consumer low enough that they actually get care and high enough that they don’t do it frivolously.

It’s not perfect but it’s better than the alternative.

Well thank GOD Donald Trump repealed and replaced Obamacare with something so much better as promised, right?

Oh wait...

Well, you see, fool, you have to sign up for the ACA to receive the benefits.

It looks like this guy had no insurance at all.

That's the only way he could be racking up $2.5 million in bills.

Either that or he's scamming again. He's a convicted tax fraud, after all.

Oh wait...

McCain stabbed President Trump- and the people- in the back in the middle of the night.

And he did it purely out of spite.

President Trump's signature plan, Trumpcare, which would have provided unbelievably tremendous healthcare at savings you had to see to believe was defeated by a single vote.

That was not a repeal, much less a replacement. Your ignorance was taken advantage of once again!

It was a "skinny repeal" which removed some of the taxes which paid for Obamacare, thus it was going to make Obamacare add to the federal debt.

Since Trump had not ever produced a replacement for Obamacare, McCain nixed it.

You've been so hoaxed by Trump, you poor gaslighted fool. Trump told you he had a beautiful replacement which would make health care so cheap.

It's on you that you have never demanded to see that replacement. Trump depends on you rubes being that stupid. His whole lifetime career has depended on the idiocy of people like you.
