I have to say that I thought focusing on Assad's removal rather than ending a civil war even with some kind of partition was a mistake. But, JFC. Let's just change policy without even talking to Nato.

Well, there is a choice, but unfortunately in this instance Putin's right. It would have been nice if the admin bothered giving our allies a heads up, though.

Exactly why is it a problem if Assad stays in power? He's killing muzbots. That's a net gain for the world.
