Ford closes EV plant in Michigan

I think alot of Dim megadonors are heavily invested in EVs,

Or maybe the cult hates Elon Musk more than they hate climate change.

MUSK=EV=EVIL

Who knows? They always lie about their real intentions.
The funny part being that the Cybertruck with it's numerous flaws is outselling all of the big three companies on EV truck sales.
And Musk doesn't spend a cent on advertising...

Still a niche market for any EV truck and am glad I went with a used low miles 2019 Tundra with one of Toyota's last 5.7 V-8's.
Planning on putting a few hundred thousand miles on that baby.

Considering all the criminal activity taking place in Congress with insider a trading I'm sure you're right.

You haven't seen nothing yet, shutting down the diversified plant making the lighting is nothing. Ford completely scrapped the (2025) U759 program for Oakville ON and BSP that was a 6 passenger 3 row electric SUV similar in size to the Explorer. Ford delayed it two years and has now scrapped it. That move fucked up the whole tooling supply chain. That was a multibillion-dollar error (lost), but it is better to take that loss that have a plant with capacity 0f 200,000 units plus loosing that type of money. Oakville and Buffalo used to make Edges which was shut down May 1, 2024 to retool for the electric SUV. Ford buying into the EV craze took the Edge off the market where you could get a very well equip for just over $50K and profitable to Ford and was going to replace it with a 6 passenger EV starting at $85K (projected) losing your ass on everyone built. So now Oakville is being retooled mid-stream to make highly profitable Super-duty trucks. That brand new Tennessee Ford Blue Oval electric vehicle plant could be a very large albatross around Ford's neck as the P800 program launch the new Electric f150 has already been delayed twice. The only full EV program moving forward is the Transit van for commercial applications.

Everybody is backing away from EV's. Most including Ford are moving to Hybrids.

Same thing will happen to Solar and wind as the cost of maintenance going forward
eclipses all the imagined benefits. Like it or not we will turn back to nuclear and eventually perfect the fusion process.

Innovation cannot be mandated by the ******* government.

There is a product lifecycle. EVs are still squarely in the EARLY ADAPTER phase.

Remember DVD-R? Never took off…quickly replaced by DVRs.

Let EVs go through their natural life cycle.

Dems tried to politicize it. The cult slurps up any shit their thought overlords serve them.

Don't want one. Can't do the 15 minute charge on a long trip. I hear they are tire eaters too because of the extra weight. To each his own though.
Yep I own one and I can tell you the damn thing eats tires like the Cookie monster eats cookies. They will have to redesign tires for these cars which of course will be more expensive.

Lefties, explain why you are not buying EVs.

Are you now climate DENIERS?
I could not see myself getting into a new problematic electric car, or truck. My ecoboost f150 is cleaner than a diesel. As far as dirty air goes, we're leaps and bounds better than we were in the '60s. Leaded gas burned nasty and turned the snow black.

Is that due to the weight of the vehicle? Batteries are heavy.

If Trump had been president they would have been making gas cars and these people would still have their jobs.
They still have their jobs. Read op article and go read another. Some of the shut down is year end for the holidays. They do this all the time.

Glad you kicked in. Wasn't sure where or when I heard that or if it was accurate. Makes sense though. Never thought about the extra weight until I heard that.

A pair of tires that last 60K on a regular car are dead in 25K on an electric car. It has to do with the total surface area touching the ground that translates into pounds per square inch on the tire surface. They need to create tires for the electric car that have more surface area so that the five is in the tire are not overstressed by the increase in force per square inch.

I also believe that when fusion gets perfected, we will have safe compact power sources lasting decades then interspace travel will be much easier. But you know the corporate elite around the world will never let the average consumer own a power source for a vehicle or anything that will last anywhere near that long, not enough profit.

My brother has a Tesla Y. It is great for his day to day in Miami, but it is a pain in the ass when he travels anywhere out of the city.

Speed drops range considerably. Same with load.

Sorry, but my trade (i've been a spark going on 1/2 century) isn't going to save the planet, but by gawd we'll make you look as good as possible while it all goes south..... ;) ~S~
