Most of the Pharma is made in China now, this is what Trump was bitching about after he mismanaged Covid and couldn't get needed supplies because he didn't replenish the stores.

Not the newest drugs. We do research, which is the heavy lifting. Pharma charges US citizens as much as 10 times what they charge Switzerland, for example, for the same drug. That is likely because these countries with socialized medicine don't have the healthcare budgets to pay top dollar.
