As a moderate. That is to say I vote for both parties, yes I’m fine.
Every administration, probably starting with Washington, has pressured the press into not publishing something. Every administration has done this. So the revelation is pretty much business as usual.
I’ve posted that sentiment several times. Nobody can explain why or how this was different than say the Pentagon Papers. Or the Drugs for Arms for the Contras during the Reagan Admin. Or how this was different than the Patriot Act crap during the Bush 43 admin. Or how it was different than the misinformation regarding Benghazi, which was so successful thanks to the efforts of both Republicans and Democrats that even today 95% of the people don’t know what happened or why.
The Wilson Administration came up with the Espionage Act to help cover up his complicity in the Zimmerman Telegram.
But pressuring the press to avoid publication is common and routine.
Nixon personally called Publishers to “request” that they not publish the story of the Glomar Explorer.
Now the problem with this is the only platform that wasn’t talking about the Biden Laptop was Twitter. It was mentioned everywhere else.
Here is a news story from 2020. Before the election.
Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine in…

And here is one from right before the election in the New York Times.
President Trump’s allies have promoted claims of corruption aimed at the former vice president’s son in an effort to damage the Biden campaign.

Oh and here is CNN.
The FBI said in a letter Tuesday night that it had "nothing to add" to comments this week by the Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, who said there was "no intelligence to support" that Russian disinformation efforts were connected to recently surfaced emails that have been behind...

The problem from the get go was the Computer Shop owner. He didn’t contact the Feds when he found “damaging information”. He contacted the Trump Campaign.
So when people heard about it. It was obviously a hit piece. The owner wasn’t viewed as a Patriot. He was viewed as another partisan hack.
It didn’t cost Trump the election. It didn’t cost him the Presidency. People heard about it. They shrugged and went on. They didn’t care.
We had high unemployment. We had COVID restrictions. We had people dying. And the same people screaming about the laptop were howling about killing rioters a few months before.
They were already viewed as extremist and unreasonable.
Now. Rewriting history, you guys act like if only Twitter had allowed the messages about Hunters Laptop then the election would have been won by Trump. Baloney. We all heard about it. The problem is that if you are going to scream Nepotism, it’s best if you don’t have half of Trumps family working in the White House while decrying it.
Us old timers remember when Reagan’s kid was a bigwig in the Savings and Loan debacle and scandal. Bush’s kids became Governors. And later President.
Jimmy Carters idiot Brother cranked up a Beer to capitalize on his family. How many remember Billy Beer? Reagan’s kids tried to get into talk radio. Bush’s kids are doing nothing jobs for big money.
And don’t get me started on the idiot Clinton Kid.
So how is this worse than the Pentagon Papers? How is this worse than CIA Drug Smuggling to fund the Contras? How is this worse than any of the other examples in history?
