View attachment 479686Are Bassists allowed? Here's my rig and two ladies. From left is a 2018 Fender Player Series fretless Jazz Bass, center (up to down) Line6 G30 wireless, SWR WorkingPro 700, and Hartke XL bass cabs, 210 and 410, respectively. Right of that is my main player, my 2011 60th Anniversary Fender American Standard Precision Bass. Since the 2010 year and until the American Pro came out, Fender dropped the Custom Shop 62s in these basses. I string both my basses with D'Addario XL 165 Nickels (.045-.105)

Love bass players. I believe to play bass at a high level is much more challenging than guitar. Honestly, when I really listen to great bands I am tuning into the drummers and bass players more than anything else.
Back in the 60s, I heard a Navy band that included a phenomenal bass player who could get unique (essentially indescribable) sounds from his bass guitar by rapidly picking and slapping the guitar. They were playing on top of a flattop river barge anchored as a stage at our city waterfront.

I won't share my crybaby stories like pawning my stuff to help raise $10,000 for an attorney for my son , or when our house burned down, because honestly I'm just thankful for what I have right now..... my wife who's been with me 33 years, my two sons and a nice place in the country that's
paid for.....with excellent well water.

I'll be saving up some for more stuff in the coming weeks and months.

This Ibanez was only $170 @ a pawn shop and since I put new strings on it and leveled the tremolo it's been locked down for 3 weeks and I've only had to fine-tune it..... and I play for at least an hour every day ....usually two or three.

My Takamine hardly ever gets played.
